Top two to make light work of injury-ravaged opponents
Eric Roberts 2014-12-04 in Football Tips
One’s plan is to keep betting on the 15th round of English Premier League games as simple as possible, with win bets on Manchester City, Chelsea and Hull comprising’s one strategy.
Confidence is a priceless commodity in life in general but professional sport in particular and the confidence that is gushing through the veins of most Manchester City players, especially Sergio Aguero, is one of the reasons why one is tipping the Citizens to make it five wins on the spin with a home victory of injury-ravaged Everton at Etihad Stadium.
It does not matter that Manchester City required two late, late goals to beat a Bayern Munchen team that had played one man light for more than 70 minutes. Manchester City’s win in its UEFA Champions League Group E home match against Bayern breathed new life into its continental campaign and may even end up saving the job of its manager, Manuel Pellegrini, and some of its highest paid players. Manchester City has taken the fillip of its UEFA Champions League Group E success and posted English Premier League victories over Southampton and Sunderland, both away from home. And one does not have the words to describe how well Aguero is playing in attack.
Everton, which conceded three goals to Manchester City in losing both of last season’s English Premier League clashes, is trying its best to compete at home and abroad but it does not have the strength in depth of its Saturday opponent and the strain of fighting on many fronts is starting to show.
Even though it has only played well in patches, Manchester City has scored 31 goals in its 14 English Premier League games and that statistic should be a frightening one for an Everton side that has conceded 22 top-flight goals – more than any other team above 14th on the division’s ladder.
Manchester City is available at odds of 57/1001.57-1750.57-1.750.57 with several bookmakers, including Betfred and William Hill, to beat Everton and go some way to addressing the historical data that says that the Toffees are one of their bogey sides. According to statisticians, only against West Ham has Everton secured more English Premier League wins than versus Manchester City. That said, the English Premier League is in its 23rd season and Manchester City has not been one of its strongest teams for most of that period dating back to 1992.
Newcastle’s injury problems are similar to those of Everton and that is not going to help the Magpies get anything from their English Premier League home match against Chelsea.
Just when Newcastle boss Alan Pardew thought that he could relax that his job was not under immediate threat, bang, the Magpies sustained one injury after another. Newcastle was sufficiently good and Burnley was suficiently bad for the English Premier League game between the sides at Turf Moor to end all square but the Magpies will have to improve out of sight to stop Chelsea posting its latest domestic win.
Chelsea has not conceded a goal in any of its last four matches across all competitions and one does not like the chance of Newcastle shutting out one of club football’s form teams with so many of its regular starters on the sidelines.
Many bookmakers, including Coral and Paddy Power, are offering odds of 53/1001.53-1890.53-1.890.53 about Chelsea beating Newcastle at St James’ Park. That will do nicely alongside Manchester City at odds of 57/1001.57-1750.57-1.750.57 and Hull, which is available at odds of 29/202.45+1451.451.45-0.69 with BetVictor, to defeat West Bromwich on home soil.
One opposed West Bromwich versus West Ham in the 14th round of English Premier League games and one believes that the Baggies are worth opposing whenever their opponent is odds against. There is little to choose between Hull and West Bromwich on the English Premier League ladder currently but one thinks that the Tigers will pull clear of the relegation zone and that the Baggies will struggle to stay out of it.
