Lazio to Want it Just as Much as Crotone in Serie A

Lazio need points for Champions League qualification

Sunday’s Italian Serie A match between Crotone and Lazio has huge implications at opposite ends of the ladder and one thinks that the latter is overpriced to win the game.

Lazio is fourth on the Italian Serie A ladder, occupying the division’s final spot in next term’s UEFA Champions League with two rounds, including a home match versus fifth-ranked Internazionale, remaining. Internazionale will host lowly ranked Sassuolo on Saturday so the odds are that Lazio will drop to the fifth rung of the Italian Serie A ladder before it lines up against relegation-threatened Crotone and the pressure will be on the capital club to do the business.

December’s reverse Italian Serie A fixture between Lazio and Crotone resulted in a 4-0 home victory for the White and Sky Blues, who scored each of their goals from the 56th minute. Generally, Lazio has come up short versus Italian Serie A’s leading lights but the White and Sky Blues have not lost to a team ranked lower than 11th. Sixteenth on the Italian Serie A ladder, Crotone has not beaten any of the league’s top seven sides anywhere and the Pythagoreans encounter a Lazio team that is 5-4-0 in its last nine divisional games.

According to one’s Italian Serie A collateral form analysis, Lazio boasts a 16-1-2 advantage over Crotone, including progressive counts of 6-0-1 and 10-1-1. Crotone needs the points to protect its Italian Serie A status but Lazio’s motivation is just as great because UEFA Champions League qualification plays such a big part in recruiting players. Back Lazio at 1.94  with Jetbull.

UEFA Europa League participation will be on the mind of both Atalanta and Milan when they lock horns in Italian Serie A action on Sunday. Atalanta and Milan are adjacent on the Italian Serie A ladder after 36 rounds and the former will leapfrog the latter if Sunday’s match is a home win.

Based on one’s Italian Serie A collateral form analysis, as well as direct head-to-head data, Atalanta is superior to Milan. Atalanta holds an 8-4-7 Italian Serie A collateral form lead over Milan, including registering an impressive 2-0 away victory in December’s reverse fixture in which the Goddess scored either side of the half-time interval. Atalanta is a good bet at 1.95  with Betway.

One’s third and final Italian Serie A selection is Bologna, which is overpriced at 3.15  with 888Sport to get the better of Chievo on Sunday.

Bologna is safe from dropping out of Italian Serie A so the bookmaking fraternity is willing to let punters back the Red and Blues at generous odds to post a home win over a Chievo team that is one point and one rung above the relegation zone. Bologna overcame going down to 10 men to register a 3-2 away victory over Chievo in December’s reverse Italian Serie A fixture and, according to one’s collateral form analysis, the Red and Blues enjoy a 10-1-8 edge over the Flying Donkeys, including progressive counts of 4-1-1 and 8-1-4. Chievo will tackle Bologna without two suspended regular starters so that is another plus for one’s pick.
