Betwego Cons

  • Website only available in Turkish and part English

Betwego bookmaker’s homepage immediately alerts the user to the fact that the betting site is primarily Turkish, with a huge banner scrolling across the screen. The website can be viewed in English or Turkish, but even when converting the language to English, some of the banners, graphics and pages still display in Turkish. Room for improvement here. The site itself is generally very similar to the majority of betting sites out there, with sports on the left, bet slips on the right and live action in the middle. A minor gripe is that customers have to scroll down the list of sports on the left – not all are shown on the homepage as a default. It would be better to have every sport laid out so customers can see what’s on offer.

Betwego bookmaker has Betwego TV, enabling bettors to watch a range of different sports including football, basketball, tennis and ice hockey. This is a nice feature as it is always entertaining to be able to see how a bet is progressing in real time, and some clients may not otherwise have access to the channels offered on Betwego TV.

On BetWeGo bookmaker’s roster is a decent number (21 to be exact) of sports. Users can bet on the following; football, basketball, tennis, volleyball, handball, baseball, ice hockey, rugby, Aussie rules, snooker, darts, cycling, motorsports, table tennis, boxing, MMA, golf, water polo, ski jumping, alpine events and biathlon. As expected, some sports have significantly more markets than others; football dominates, whereas the number of matches in water polo are fairly limited. Additionally, Betwego bookmaker covers a range of e-sports such as LoL, CS: GoDota 2, StarCraft, and NBA2K.

Football odds for top-flight games are competitive. For the World Cup games (where the odds should be just about as good as they can be), the 1X2 fayre compiled to just over 103.5% for most games. In addition to the 1X2 bets which are the most popular with those bettors who like to strike accumulator bets, there are typically over 100 additional bet types for the major games. Betwego compile markets for goal betting, player bets, score bets, combined bets and 1st and 2nd half bets. In addition, they offer some unique bet types for customers to get their teeth stuck into, such as half time/full time result combined with the total number of goals. Many bookmakers do not offer these bets as they feel that the outcome of one part of the bet would influence the outcome of the other part.

In addition to providing odds on major international tournaments such as the World Cup and the main domestic competitions such as the English Premier League, German Bundasliga, Spain’s La Liga and Italy’s Serie A, Betwego bookmaker also compiles odds for games from all around the world from leagues in countries such as Vietnam, Peru, Latvia and Chile. As expected, the odds from these leagues are not as generous as for the elite competitions.

Tennis is a popular betting sport around the world and has solid coverage at Betwego bookmaker. Again depending on the quality of tournament and knowledge of the players, the odds differ, but they are generally in the realm of 108-110%. For a game which can only have two possible outcomes, these sorts of odds would be considered average at best. Each tennis match typically offers a range of additional bet types, with total games, handicaps, correct score and set betting the most popular choices amongst bettors.

There are baseball odds from USA, South Korea, Japan and Mexico, with the majority of attention focused on the MLB in the States. Moneyline odds compile to roughly 106.5% which is around the industry standard. In the USA, the most popular type of bet on baseball games is the spread; one team receives a handicap which denotes their perceived superiority, and makes the odds for both sides to win roughly equal. Betwego bookmaker does a solid job of offering several handicap lines for each contest and the odds for these are a little more competitive than the moneyline odds, working out to around 105% per line.

E-sports have exploded in recent years, with players now treated like celebrities, earning significant sums of money in the process. Many bookmakers have jumped on to the trend and have offered e-sports betting on their sites, and Betwego hasn’t missed the boat. They currently have a handful of different games available to bet on, with League of Legends proving to be extremely popular. The odds aren’t too bad either, and we witnessed an average of 107% in the win market for different games. There is also outright betting and other score betting for each match.

In addition to the pre-match offerings, Betwego bookmaker provides plenty of live odds for a variety of different sports. The odds aren’t typically as good as for the early prices, but it gives bettors a great opportunity to strike wagers as the games are underway.

New customers are entitled to take advantage of 50% bonus on their first deposit up to a maximum of 500 Turkish Lira (around £80). The promotion is subject to customers turning their initial funds over 1.4 times, and their bonus funds 11 times. The bets placed to satisfy the rollover requirement must be doubles, with one selection having minimum odds of 1.70 and the other bet having odds of 1.50.

Deposit Methods

Betwego bookmaker is up with the times and facilitates deposits using Bitcoin. In order to fund their account, users must go through Cubits technology who facilitate the deposit and withdrawal operations.

Other deposit and withdrawal methods include:

  • Credit/debit cards
  • Skrill
  • Neteller
  • Webnakit
  • QR Payment

Customer Services

There are two avenues through which customers are able to contact representatives of the bookmaker; via e-mail or through a live chat feature. The live chat is available to clients by clicking on the bottom right hand corer of the screen and the service is manned 24/7. Alternatively, individuals can e-mail support@betwego.co. The downside for most people looking to use Betwego bookmaker is that customer service representatives are only available in Turkish and they refuse to converse in any other languages.

In their favour, Betwego has produced a comprehensive FAQ section which provides detailed information on the rules and terms for each of the sports they offer on their site. Interestingly, although Betwego does not list a telephone number on their site as a method to contact support, when digging deep, at the bottom of the homepage, there is the number +44 7899 283898 for clients to call. This number is actually a UK mobile number.

Restricted Countries

When looking to sign up for an account, users will be pleased to know that virtually all of the major countries around the world are listed as available to have an account. When switching away from Turkey, one of the form headers changes from ‘Turkish ID’ to ‘Passport’, so it is clearly the intention of Betwego bookmaker to offer their services internationally. With that being said, as mentioned above, customer services is only currently available in Turkish and therefore any issues or disputes may prove to be difficult to resolve if the bettor does not have a handle on the language.

Mobile Betting

Betwego’s mobile-optimised website is very functional and the site automatically loads in English when visited from a website in the western world. There is a horizontal menu bar which gives quick access to all of the different betting mediums – when clicking on the sports, they appear in a vertical list in the centre of the page accompanied by an icon. For those who like live betting, there is a link at the bottom of the page. The mobile app definitely isn’t the most advanced out there in terms of graphics and design, and loading isn’t immediate (takes a second or two), but it is easy to use and serves a purpose. Users of all of the major handheld devices and tablets can access their mobile site.

Betwego Bookmaker Verdict

Betwego need to improve their English language conversion but we can’t let that detract from the positive aspects of their services. Football and e-sports enthusiasts will find plenty of appeal with this betting site as the coverage is great and the odds are very competitive.
