mCHEZA Features

  • A well designed and stylish sports betting site
  • Many varied and in-depth betting markets
  • Great live betting service

Bonuses? Yes. Loads? No.

Oddly, mCHEZA bookmaker doesn’t make a big fuss over their bonuses and promotions; odd because they actually do have some – or at least one! Instead, tucked away at the foot of the site with the Ts & Cs is a ‘promotions’ link that takes us through to a page listing what’s on offer.

The one listed at the time of this review pertained to a 50% bonus payout on multibets but we had it confirmed by their customer services that periodically bonuses and promotions are added to this section. At the time of this review however, there was no welcome bonus.

(Given that welcome promotions are the recognised way of getting customers ‘through the door’ we found this a little surprising, but given they change their promotions periodically, perhaps there will be some in the future.)

A Little Bit Different, And We Like It!

mCHEZA bookmaker does things a bit differently to the majority – and we like that. The home page sets the tone perfectly with a simple but effective page, set against a black background, that is centred around a couple of in-house ads. It looks good and offers a one-click route to the site’s main offerings: sports, live sports and virtual sports.

We’ll have a look at live betting shortly, but we’ll start with the sports betting page, which comes with a choice of four options – event view, dashboard, live events and results. Most sites default to the dashboard format (the traditional three-column layout) but mCHEZA naturally drops into the event view format, so we’ll have a quick look at that.

Essentially, as opposed to the dashboard, which offers everything in one place, event view simply lists the games in the sport of your choice by, first of all, offering you a choice of country and competition that eventually drills down to a conventional looking betting line. Predominantly this presents the punter with the three-way bet options, but also a statistics tab and another that offers all of the other bets pertaining to your chosen fixture. And there are a lot! At the time of this review, a couple of Bundesliga and Serie A fixtures that were taking place that same day had well over 300 markets! All the site’s sports are available on this page, with the biggest sports being accessible by six tabs at the top of the page, the rest by a sub-menu.

The dashboard, as mentioned above, is presented in the traditional three-column format and as per usual, the left sidebar is used to list the betting sports on offer, with each one indicated by a single icon which extends to words and characters if clicked upon. The number of events available is indicated against each line and there are a lot (the exact number and variety we’ll come onto later) but it’s a nicely designed column that defaults to a sport-by-sport listing, which then drills down to another one or two levels – depending on the sport and the number of leagues and competitions on offer.

If we take football – the most obvious example – one click on the icon opens a list (still within the sidebar) of all the countries for which mCHEZA bookmaker has footballing betting markets. In addition there is one entitled ‘World’, which focuses on international competitions. For each country there is then a sub-menu that lists the leagues and competitions on offer to the bettor, and only when you’ve drilled down to the base level of your category does it fill the main body of the page with the betting data (in exactly the same format as described above in ‘event view’).

For live betting, accessed via a link at the top of the page, they offer their customers the traditional line of odds, which are supported by a really impressive match tracker that is up there with the best on the web. The graphic shows the pitch (or court or rink) with arrows showing the direction of play and where the ball is – the next best thing to a live stream. It also shows loads of stats to support your betting.

The right-hand column follows the traditional norm, with the betting slip at the top, which is populated by just a single click on the bet of your choice. It also offers some choices in terms of alternative layouts of the page – modern, Asian, classic and combo – and also different choices for how the punter wishes the odds to be presented on the page – decimal, fractional, American, Hong Kong, Malay and Indo. We like the fact mCHEZA bookmaker offers so much choice as it allows the punter to customise the page in a style that suits them.

All in all, the sports pages are designed in a very clever way and they look good, but, more importantly, the functionality also works nicely.

Loads and Loads of Markets for the Discerning Punter!

mCHEZA bookmaker offer a huge range of sports, ranging from the go-to sports through to the more obscure sports, alongside offering their punters some value and interesting betting markets. At the time of this review they were offering their customers no less than 33 sports:

American Football, Football, Basketball, Tennis, Handball, Baseball, Hockey, Snooker, Boxing, Cycling, Darts, Motor Sport, Golf, UFC

In addition to these 33 sports, there are loads of other betting categories listing, including politics, TV shows & movies, and as many as ten different e-sport options.

Equally impressive is the detail and breadth of the bets available, and the same applies to the depth of sports available, particularly the popular betting sports where they cover lots of lower level and, even, amateur leagues as well as the well-known competitions. To use football as the obvious example, they cover leagues regarded as the biggest and best in the world – UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, Spanish Primera Division, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, Italian Serie A etc – but also many lesser known leagues in places such as Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Guatemala, Jordan and UAE. In fact, name a country and they’re likely to cover some football there.

In keeping with most quality sports betting sites, they also offer some good coverage of the big American Sports – basketball, NFL, baseball and ice hockey – and the world’s top tennis competitions – US Open, Wimbledon, French Open, WTA tour, Davis Cup etc. They also provide some in-depth coverage of basketball and ice hockey way beyond the big American leagues, and plenty of handball markets.

In terms of offering value bets we were left a little disappointed. With the industry standard being generally recognised as odds compiled between 105% and 106%, the fact the three-ways bets we tested on mCHEZA hovered just over the 111% mark indicated them to be at the less generous end of the spectrum.

Prefer to Bet on the Go? No Problem.

As you would expect, mCHEZA bookmaker is a fully optimized mobile site and so if you prefer betting on the go – either on a smartphone or a tablet – you will find a very nice configuration that pretty much replicates the desktop site. It works equally well for both iOS and Android and offers a good betting experience in terms of navigation, responsiveness and layout. There is also a very good Android app available. They also can be accessed via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Depositing? Withdrawing? – Seems OK.

Cash-out is an automated process on mCHEZA bookmaker, so, in the general scheme of things, they operate at the acceptable end of the scale, with pay-outs generally being processed between 12 and 24 hours. At the time of this review, there were no negative comments online regarding MCHEZA’s payouts.

Safe and Secure. What More Can You Ask?

There was nothing to suggest that mCHEZA bookmaker was anything but a secure and safe place to bet. All the obvious checks and balances are in place and bettors can bet there safe in the knowledge the site offers a pleasant, stress-free betting experience. A quick online search offered up no negativity at all, which is always a good sign.

Our engagement with their customer services team was also a pleasant experience with the 24/7 live chat facility being particularly good and helpful. All of our queries were answered efficiently, succinctly and quickly. There is also an email address (customersupport@mCHEZA.co.ke) where customers can send any questions or queries.

They also have a strong social media presence ranging from Twitter, Facebook, to Instagram and they are happy to respond to questions online. For customers who prefer to call, the company’s telephone numbers are up all day and night.

A big plus for us was that they take their responsible gambling duties very seriously and devote a section at the foot of the site to the subject. They go to great lengths to identify the pointers that could ultimately lead to addiction, and promote self-responsibility; listing many tips and helpful hints.

Our Verdict

The fact there was only one bonus available when we did this review was a little disappointing, but at least there was one and we understand others are added from time to time.

The odds on offer weren’t the best value out there, it has to be said, but this needs to be weighed up against the staggering number of markets on offer, the number of sports and depth of bets.

Overall, mCHEZA sportsbook isn’t quite up to scratch, especially if you’re not in Kenya! Try our most recommended bookmakers below.
