Website

Bet Bright utilise the ubiquitous three column layout. The list of sports can be found on the left hand side of the page (accompanied by icons), the upcoming action can be found in the centre of the page and the graphics and terms and conditions are found on the right hand side. The bet slip also appears on the right hand side when a selection is made. Customers can flick between Sports, In-Play, Casino, Games, Live Casino, BBTV, Mobile and Blog by clicking any of the links on the horizontal menu bar at the top of the page.

The site also offers live streaming on UK, Irish and US horse racing. Customers can access all of this action by logging in and placing a minimum £1 bet on their desired contest. It is always a bonus for bettors to be able to watch the contests they wager on, and £1 is a nice, low limit. The website isn’t particularly flashy, but is easy to navigate around, and does a job.

Bonuses

Bet Bright are currently offering new bookmaker customers £50 in free bets when they open an account. To claim the bonus you should open an account and deposit £20. This will be matched with £20 in free bets on the bookmaker and £30 in free casino bets. The bookmaker bonus + deposit must be rolled over 5 times before making a withdrawal – a pretty fair deal among today’s bookmakers – but the casino bonus must be rolled over an eye-watering 40 times before any bonus funds and winnings can be banked.

In addition to the sign up bonus, Bet Bright also offer a number of other promotions including accumulator insurance on 4 folds on US sports, 25% bonuses on darts, and risk free legs on UK 5 fold+ accumulators. There are also daily price boosts and other concessions on a variety of sports.

Sports Markets & Odds

The bookmaker compiles odds for 20 different sports, with a very UK and Irish centric look to their list of events. Horse racing and football seem to be the company’s bread and butter, with GAA Hurling, GAA Football and Rugby Union odds to attract the Irish bettors. Other sports include Darts, MMA, Cricket, Snooker, Greyhound Racing and Golf. There are also the staple US sports such as Baseball, American Football, Basketball and Ice Hockey.

The early odds for horse racing are strong. Bookmakers have a tendency of being very defensive with their early prices in order to protect from any ricks or errors by the odds compilers (more money comes closer to the off time, and the markets become more accurate). Bet Bright offer some decent odds – looking at two races on the flat, roughly two hours before the off, the respective total book percentages were 111.76% (9 runners) and 119.1% (11 runners). This works out to less than 2% per runner which is strong when compared to the industry as a whole. In addition to having solid early horse racing odds, they also provide Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK & Irish horse racing, so if a bettor takes the price on a horse and that selection drifts and wins, they get the bigger price.

Bet Bright bookmaker provides a strong football section on their website, with odds on matches from over 40 different countries. Football odds vary from 104-105% which is decent, but not market leading. The number of additional markets is an area where Bet Bright could improve. On the eve of Premier League fixtures, each match had an additional 32 betting markets on top of the 1X2 fayre.

The odds on the GAA sports are not quite as competitive. The GAA Football odds work out to 113.6% which demonstrates a conservative approach. The GAA Hurdling odds are a little better, compiling to 109.5%. Both sports have a solid number of additional bets in 23 (can’t expect nearly as many as there would be for football matches.

Banking Options

Customers can only deposit using Pounds Sterling, and at present, Bet Bright bookmaker only accepts the following card payments:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Maestro

It would be beneficial for the company to expand their payment options and accept e-wallets, as these are becoming increasingly popular with bettors.

Restricted Countries

Due to licensing, only sign ups from customers located in the UK and Republic of Ireland are accepted. As such, all other countries would be considered restricted.

Languages / Customer Support

Customer support is open from 8am until midnight daily, and clients can get in touch with Bet Bright through phone or e-mail:

Phone – UK: 0845 399 6570/Rest of World: +44 845 399 6570
E-mail – support@betbright.com

Mobile

Bet Bright’s mobile optimised website utilises the same colour scheme as the main site, and loads automatically when visited from a handheld device. The site is responsive and well designed – the sports can be located on a scrollable horizontal bar at the top of the page, with the upcoming horse racing and live action in the centre. No complaints here.

Verdict

Bet Bright bookmaker is definitely going in the right way towards becoming one of the more established bookmakers in the UK & Ireland. Their service is decent, odds are solid and they show live horse racing, which is also a bonus. External advertising and sponsorship has helped to improve their brand recognition, and here at SBO, we would definitely recommend opening an account with this Irish bookmaker. Is there room for improvement? Sure – in a couple of areas; payments, depths of markets etc. but they have the fundamentals right and could continue to grow in years to come.
