Website

The landing page for the BetRebels Bookmaker website is too cluttered, with the implementation of several different graphics and images making it difficult to focus upon one particular area of the page. However once clicking onto the bookmaker, the design is much more user friendly with a traditional online bookmaker layout. The sports are laid out down the left hand side of the page, with each discipline accompanied with a logo. The live betting and most popular bets are placed in the middle of the page by default, with casino graphics and promotions on the right hand side of the page. A simple red, grey and white theme is used.

There is a useful statistics section which can be found beneath the list of sports. This is a nice addition and provides useful data and analysis on football, basketball, tennis, volleyball and more. Another good feature of the website is the ‘search’ bar at the top of the page which allows customers to quickly access their desired team/market.

BetRebels have recently introduced an ‘Easy Bet’ tab, which allows users to see the upcoming matches for the three most popular sports; football, tennis and basketball. Customers are able to adjust the time period from between 3-24 hours and will be given a list of matches from around the world in that timeframe, with the 1X2, Asian handicap and overs/unders market all displayed on one page. A flag is displayed by each game to indicate the country and this feature is novel and time saving.

BetRebels Bookmaker do have a mobile site, however users do not automatically get redirected to the web app when clicking on the web address on their device – they have to search Bet Rebels mobile on a search engine before getting to the desired location. The mobile site uses the same theme as the main site and is fairly easy to navigate around and responsive.

Markets

BetRebels Bookmaker only price up events for 20 different sports which falls behind some of their competition. In addition to football, American football, tennis, basketball and volleyball, the smaller sports of futsal (indoor football akin to five a side), handball, water polo and bandy are covered. Interestingly, there are no prices for golf or boxing – two sports which are ever-present with the vast majority of online bookmakers. The sport with the most games/markets is football, followed by basketball, then ice hockey and volleyball.

When clicking on the football betting, there is the option to bet on matches in 25 different countries around the world. South America has quite strong coverage, as does Europe (naturally) – the noticeable absentees are some of the Middle East, parts of Asia and some the smaller European leagues (which have been open to corruption). Whilst the coverage of leagues around the world is fair, it is somewhat of a curious decision to leave out competitions such as the J-League in Japan and the increasingly popular fayre from Kuwait etc.

The depth of each league has to be considered poor. When visiting the English leagues, customers are only able to bet on the Premier League, the FA Cup and the League Cup. It is possible that matches from lower leagues are offered closer to kick off, but there are no ante-post prices for the second, third and fourth tiers. This puts BetRebels well behind their rivals.

For each match, there are plenty of extra markets, however they are indicated using abbreviations such as DC for double chance etc. This is not particularly user friendly.

Odds

The competitiveness of BetRebel’s odds tends to vary by market and game. Taking a look at the NBA Golden State Warriors v Dallas Mavericks game, the following book percentages can be found:

All of the established firms work to similar margins, but BetRebels offer less generous odds than their rivals (a 100% book would include no profit margin for the bookmaker). However, comparing that to the Italian Serie A game between Lazio v Atalanta:

Promotions

There are currently two promotions on offer with BetRebels – a sign up bonus and a boost to winnings on accumulator bets.

When signing up for an account, customers are eligible to receive a 100% matched deposit bonus up to €100. To activate the bonus, the new account holder will need to make their first addition to their BetRebels account and then email bonus@betrebels.com to get the extra funds credited. As with many firms who offer matched deposits, there are more than a few catches.

In order to make the deposit and bonus amount eligible for withdrawal, customers must roll over both the total amount by 10 times if they are placing singles, and 4 times if they are placing doubles up. So if a customer deposits €100 and received €100 bonus, when placing singles they will need to turnover €2000 in order to withdraw their funds. If all their bets are doubles or bigger, then they will need to turn over €800. To qualify, single bets must be placed at odds of 1.90 and above, whilst doubles must have odds of at least 2.60 . If choosing to place both doubles and singles, then the customer will be subject to the 10x rollover requirement.

The offer is not available to customers from Russia, Armenia, Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Belarus, Moldavia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Portugal, Ireland, Slovakia, China and Taiwan.

BetRebels don’t make it impossible to get something out of their sign up bonus, but they do make it a laborious process and a large number of countries are not eligible to participate.

The second concession is a bonus to all accumulator bets. This is calculated on a sliding scale, with 4 selection bets receiving a 5% bonus, all the way up to 30 selection bets receiving an 80% bonus. Realistically the chance of a. placing and b. winning a 30 selection accumulator is miniscule, and as such, the advertisement on the BetRebels’ site could be deemed a little misleading.

Customer Services

The customer services department at BetRebels has to be considered to be comprehensive – especially given the relative infancy of the company. In addition to an email and live support, there is also a Skype service, fax number and two telephone numbers. Interestingly, these numbers are Polish and Italian – perhaps indicative of where the customer base lies.

Payment Methods

Payment can be made to BetRebels accounts in British sterling, Euros and US dollars and there are a large number of options for those looking to fund their accounts.

Security

BetRebels comply with EU gaming legislation, requiring that all registered users are over the age of 18. New customers must also send a valid form of ID as well as proof of address within 72 hours of account activation.

Final Review

For a young company, Betrebels have done plenty right. A large number of payment methods and an accessible customer service team are big positives and give users confidence in the legitimacy of the operation. The odds are reasonable, the number of sports covered is OK and there are some nice features to the website such as the statistics section. Areas for improvement could include the depth of markets, and the number of promotions. To attract new custom it would be wise to offer daily concessions and bonuses. Overall, a promising bookmaker.
