Monday Night Football Week #2 September 17th, 2012
Denver Broncos at Atlanta Falcons -3 OvUn 51 8:30 EST
The Broncos head to the Georgia Dome, Monday Night to take on the Atlanta Falcons. This game is a clear headliner for the NFL in Week 2 and should be an excellent watch for bettors and fans alike.
Manning and the Broncos had a triumphant Week 1. Manning led the Broncos over the tough Pittsburgh Steelers, rallying them back into the lead in the 4th quarter. After a Roethlisberger pick 6, the Broncos took the win 31-19.
The Falcons also impressed in Week 1. Opening the season at Arrowhead, Matt Ryan led a punishing offense – that put up over 370 yards against the Chiefs. Offensively, the Falcons look almost unstoppable. Especially, with 2nd year wide out Julio Jones, who started off his sophomore season with a bang, with two TDs against and 108 yards receiving against the Chiefs.
The Line
The line opened at -2 Atlanta, and is now at the all important -3 number – which is probably where it will stay until game time. The total has moved 2 points from an opening of 49 to 51.
The Play
Peyton Manning led the NFL in QB rating last week, and looked impressive taking on last year’s top ranked defense. Still, Manning’s times in Denver has been short, and let’s not forget – they were losing the game until the 4th quarter. The Steelers also dominated time of possession stats, and controlled most of the game before losing the lead late.
Although, the Falcons faced an inferior Chiefs’ team – they were the most dominant team by a large margin in Week 1. The emergence of Julio Jones gives them so many weapons offensively, and even though the Broncos defense has been decent in recent years – we can’t see them keeping the Falcons in check at home.
