Eagles, Steelers, Jaguars All To Win In NFL Week 12

Week 12 of the NFL season brings a heightened sense of urgency for teams making a push for the playoffs.

The New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears have all claimed vital wins in their respective campaigns, triumphing on Thanksgiving.

We’ll now break down the five teams that you should have in your teaser for this week’s round of matches.

Will the Eagles stop their losing run?

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are in huge trouble in their bid to defend their Super Bowl crown. Doug Pederson’s men have lost back-to-back matches to the Cowboys and Saints, receiving a hammering on the road in New Orleans, to leave them 4-6 in their campaign. Dallas have taken control of the NFC East with a victory over the Washington Redskins this week and they own the tie-breaker over Philadelphia. As a result, the Eagles cannot afford to lose to New York this week. Their offense under Carson Wentz has been inconsistent to say the least.

They were in no position to match the Saints in their defeat at the Super Dome, while their defense was exposed time and again by Drew Brees. Pederson’s have the quality and the desperation to see off the Giants on home soil, but they need to click into gear. New York have beaten two poor teams to secure back-to-back victories. However, they do not have the quality to make it three wins on the bounce.  Eli Manning remains suspect, while the defense has been exposed by limited offenses over the past two weeks. Back the Eagles for the win at odds of -250   with TopBet.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos

The Steelers secured a huge win on the road last time out, rallying from a 16-point deficit to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ben Roethlisberger and company struggled for the majority of the contest before coming to life. Antonio Brown’s deep strike kickstarted the Steelers’ offense before Roethlisberger secured the win with a late drive, diving in for the decisive score himself. Pittsburgh have displayed that character throughout the season to put them in position in the second seed in the AFC Conference. However, they cannot rest of their laurels with tough games ahead of them, while Denver is not an easy place to play.

If Mike Tomlin’s men maintain their recent levels of form they should be able to notch their sixth win on the bounce. The Broncos will make life difficult due to their talent on defense, while Case Keenum has the ability make plays from the quarterback position. Von Miller and Bradley Chubb will keep Roethlisberger on his toes in the high altitude. The 35-year-old managed to get the job done without being at his best last week. Back him to get his team over the line again at odds of -165   with BetOnline.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Buffalo Bills

The Jaguars blew their final chance to break back into the playoffs this term. Doug Marrone was too conservative with his playcalling against the Steelers late in the game, allowing Roethlisberger to lead Pittsburgh to the triumph. Jacksonville have now lost their last six games in a row. Despite their accomplishments of last season, winning the AFC South and reaching the AFC Championship Game, Marrone will be under pressure at least back to a respectable record before the end of the term. A loss at the hands of the Bills could make heads roll. The performances of Blake Bortles have made the decision to hand him a contract extension in the off-season look extremely foolish.

Marrone did not trust him to throw the ball in the fourth quarter. He needs to start justifying his place in the team otherwise the 26-year-old could be out of the job soon enough. Buffalo could have quarterback Josh Allen back for the contest, which would be a major boost. The rookie has not been great, but considering their other options at the position, he would represent a major upgrade. Although Buffalo’s defense has been impressive, it might not be enough for them to edge the contest. Jacksonville has slightly more quality to secure a narrow win at odds of -165   with TopBet.

Seattle Seahawks @ Carolina Panthers

The Panthers were on course to challenge the Saints at the top of the NFC South a few weeks ago. However, they were taken apart by the Steelers on the road before suffering a defeat against the Detroit Lions last week. Ron Rivera’s gamble to go for two rather than a game-tying extra point backfired as Cam Newton failed to find his target in the endzone. Carolina have been a different team away from home this term where they have won only one out of their five matches compared to their 5-0 record at Bank of America Stadium.

Rivera’s men playing with greater flair on offense and are stouter on defense in front of their own fans. Expect that trend to continue against the Seahawks, who have been up and down throughout the campaign. Pete Carroll’s men put forward an impressive performance to see off Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers to improve to 5-5. However, they’re not good enough to go on the road to see off a desperate Panthers team. Back Rivera’s men for the win at odds of -165   with Bovada.

San Francisco 49ers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This contest could be a battle of which team wants to win the game the least. Draft position will be in the thoughts of both of the teams given that their seasons are all but over. The 49ers would have been hopeful at the start of the campaign, but Jimmy Garropolo’s season-ending injury blighted their term from week three. Tampa Bay’s issues at quarterback have been longstanding as neither Jameis Winston nor Ryan Fitzpatrick have been able to thrive.

Fitzpatrick’s form at the start of the season was encouraging, but he started to slip and was replaced against the Giants last week. The Buccaneers have more talent on the field in their offense, but the coaching edge goes to San Francisco. Kyle Shanahan and his staff might just be able to coax something up for Nick Mullens and company to snatch the victory on the road. Back the 49ers to expose the Buccaneers’ defense at odds of +130   with BetOnline.
