Cowboys, Bears, Titans All To Win NFL Week 15

December 14, 2018

The fight for the remaining playoff spots in the NFL is beginning to reach its climax as we enter week 15 of the campaign.

The Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers have sewn up their places in the playoffs, although their seedings are yet to be clarified.

It’s a big week for the rest of the teams in the league in both conferences. We’ll now break down which teams you should have in your teaser for this week’s round of games.

Cooper can lead the Cowboys to another win

Dallas Cowboys @ Indianapolis Colts

The Cowboys have endured a test of their mettle in recent weeks and have managed to pass every challenge that has been put in their way. Dallas have won their last five matches in a row and are on the verge of clinching the NFC East crown. Dak Prescott has come to life since the addition of Amari Cooper, which has saved the Cowboys’ season. The wideout has been sensational and was dominant against the Philadelphia Eagles last week, notching the decisive touchdown in overtime.

Ezekiel Elliott has been the reliable presence carrying the ball, leading the NFL in rushing yards. With their offense finding their form and their defense remaining stout, they look to be a tough opponent in the post-season. Indianapolis are in a battle for a Wildcard spot and produced a fine performance on the road to defeat the Houston Texans. They stymied Deshaun Watson to secure the victory in a close game. Whether or not they can stop the Cowboys even at home is another matter. Take Dallas for the victory at odds of +142  with BetOnline.

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears

The Bears’ defense proved that they are an outstanding unit, limiting the fearsome Los Angeles rams’ offense to six points at Soldier Field last week. Khalil Mack enhanced his claim to be defensive player of the year with another brilliant display, notching a sack and a forced fumble. Jared Goff was intercepted four times as Prince Amukamara, Eddie Jackson, Kyle Fuller and Roquan Smith all notched picks. Mitchell Trubisky was poor on his return from a shoulder injury, but was good enough to put 15 points on the board. The quarterback will have to elevate his game against the Packers.

In the first match-up between the two NFC North sides, Aaron Rodgers overcame a knee injury to guide Green Bay to a comeback win at Lambeau Field. He has haunted the Bears in the past, but whether the Packers are good enough at this stage of the term under interim head coach Joe Philbin remain to be seen. They beat the Falcons last week, but the Bears are a huge step up, especially on the road. Take Chicago for the win at odds of -260  with TopBet due to the quality of their defense.

Tennessee Titans @ New York Giants

The Titans have been an enigma this season. At times they’ve been brilliant, but on other occasions they’ve been extremely poor. The good version of Mike Vrabel’s men emerged last time out against the Jacksonville Jaguars as Derrick Henry inspired their victory. Henry scored four rushing touchdowns, recording over 200 yards in the ground game, including a 99-yard score.

Their defense is up there with the best of the NFL, while their offense at times can be effective. Tennessee’s inconsistent play is a concern for their playoff hopes at 7-6 just outside of the Wildcard spot, while the Colts and the Dolphins are also vying for a place. The Titans cannot afford to drop another game, making the contest against New York a must-win.

The Giants have found their form since the bye week, easing the pressure on first-year head coach Pat Shurmur. New York have won four out their last five matches as Eli Manning has improved his performances, although it might not be enough for him to keep the starting quarterback position. Given that the Titans have to win the game to keep their playoff hopes alive, back them to beat a New York team on the road to nowhere at odds of +110  with TopBet.

Miami Dolphins @ Minnesota Vikings

The Dolphins recorded one of the most memorable victories in NFL history last week. They defeated the Patriots on the final play of the game, using a series of laterals to find the endzone as Kenyan Drake beat Rob Gronkowski to record the score.

The result has kept Miami in the playoff hunt and they have to use the momentum to beat a Vikings team that appears to be fading down the stretch. Miami’s defense has been susceptible against the pass and they were taken apart by Tom Brady last week. Kirk Cousins has been struggling so there could be an opportunity for Miami to record their eighth win of the campaign.

Minnesota were atrocious on offense against the Seattle Seahawks in their 21-7 defeat on the road. Their problems this term scoring points resulted in the firing of offensive coordinator John DeFilippo. Cousins has been an issue throwing downfield, despite the talent of Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen in the passing game. Dalvin Cook is an impressive running back as well, giving the Vikings a seemingly quality offense. Back them to find their feet due to the change in coaching to beat the Dolphins at odds of -350  with Bovada.

Oakland Raiders @ Cincinnati Bengals

The Raiders produced one of a number of shocks in the NFL last week. Jon Gruden’s men defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers courtesy of a field-goal miss from Chris Boswell. Derek Carr played his best game of the season, making several excellent throws downfield. The 27-year-old threw two touchdowns and 322 yards in the victory and seems to have finally settled under the tenure of Gruden. There has been a development in the dispute between the city of Oakland and the Raiders over their move to Las Vegas.

It could be a distraction to the team therefore it might not be bad thing for them to be play on the road against Cincinnati. The Bengals have lost five matches on the bounce, and although they put forward a spirited effort against the Chargers they slipped to a five-point defeat. Joe Mixon had a good game and he could make it a close contest, but back the Raiders to continue their recent run of decent form on offense with a win at odds of +139  with BetOnline.
