NBA Picks 3/5/12

March 5, 2012

Posted Record 6-6-0 (+1.0 Units)

I posted picks Saturday and I went 2-1 for about 3 units minus juice. The Pacers destroyed New Orleans that one was never in doubt going into the fourth quarter. The Jamison prop was nearly won in the first quarter, Jamison had 19 points at the end of the first! I hope to build on our recent success tonight!

Indiana Pacers (23-12 SU, 17-18 ATS) at Chicago Bulls -7 (31-8 SU, 24-15 ATS) 8:00 EDT

The Pacers and Bulls have both been playing some great ball to start the 2nd half of the season. The Pacers head to the United Center, hoping to get their first seven game win streak in eight seasons. The Bulls hope to continue their stellar play at home and hope to avenge their Jan. 25th loss to the Pacers.

Indiana is averaging 104 points per game over their current run, they blew out the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday 102-84. The Pacers have played great team basketball lately, with six players hitting double digit points in each of their last five games. Granger has played his best against Chicago, he has averaged just over 21 points in last year’s eastern conference finals. He also has scored just 25 points per game in his last 9 regular season games the Bulls.

The Bulls played last night and took care of the Philadelphia 76ers, winning 96-91 thanks to a 35 point outing from reigning MVP Derrick Rose. The Bulls hold the NBA’s best home record at 14-2 and have been nearly unbeatable at the United Center. Rose has been tremendous against the Pacers, averaging nearly 29 points per game against the Pacers during the regular season.

I love the Bulls in this matchup. The Bulls were very angry at the way the Pacers celebrated in their January 25th win. Rose was particularly upset saying, “I’ll never forget how they celebrated just from winning this game. I can’t wait to play them again.” Joakim Noah and the other Bulls had similar quotes, as the Bulls felt disrespected on their home floor. Rose and the Bulls are out for vengeance, even though 7 is a lot, I think the Bulls win handily. Defensive stopper Luol Deng missed that game due to injury, he will be in the lineup tonight and will no doubt limit Granger’s scoring output.

The Pick: The Bulls -7 -110 for 2 units at BetOnline.com featuring some of the best NBA sides, totals, and player props online.

Los Angeles Clippers (22-13 SU, 19-16 ATS at Minnesota Timberwolves -3 (19-19 SU, 21-17 ATS 8:00 EDT

The Clippers head to the Target Center to take on the Timberwolves on Monday. The Clippers have lost their two games facing Minnesota this season, despite great performances by their stars. They go into this game looking to avenge their most recent loss on February 28th, in which the Wolves rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the Clippers 109-97.

The Clippers stars have played extremely well against Minnesota this year, but that has not translated into victories. Blake Griffin is averaging just over 26 points and 10 rebounds in six career game against Minnesota. Including, 51 points scored and 17 boards in LA’s two losses against Minnesota this season. Paul has been productive against Minnesota as well, averaging just over 19 points and 11 assists in 7 career games.

The Wolves have beaten the Clippers twice this year despite subpar performances from their stars. Love has totaled only 27 points in two games against the Clippers and has shot just 9 of 29. Rubio has also shot poorly in the series, missing 17 of his 19 shots from the field. Minnesota’s bench has keyed their success against the Clippers, Michael Beasley and Derrick Williams have combined for 54 points in the two victories.

I love Minnesota at home in this matchup, Love and Rubio seem to finally be out of their slumps. Love went off for a season high 42 on Sunday and Rubio shot the ball poorly but added 12 assists and 4 rebounds. The Wolves have beaten the Clippers twice this season, even with poor outings from their stars. I look for them to play even better with Love and Rubio finally coming out of their slumps. The Clippers also were forced into overtime last night before finally beating the Houston Rockets. Minnesota has had a day to rest and is looking to fight for a final playoff spot in the west. This is a huge game for them and they will be ready.

The Play: Minnesota Timberwolves -3 -110 for 2 Units at Bovada.lv offering great basketball odds for US sports bettors.

Thanks, good luck!
