NBA All-Star Weekend Picks
NBA All-Star Saturday Night and NBA All-Star Game Picks
Posted Record 4-5-0 (-1.9 Units)
We picked up a win on Thursday night with the Miami Heat -10 over the New York Knicks, making it a 1-0 day. I will go over some picks or value I see tonight in the skills competitions and any value in tomorrow all star game. These picks won’t count as part of the posted record as they are more speculative, but I still think there in some value in these events.
NBA All-Star Skills Challenge
Kyrie Irving +500
Tony Parker +500
John Wall +350
Russell Westbrook +350
Deron Williams +350
Rajon Rondo +325
The Skills Challenge combines shooting, passing and dribbling into a timed obstacle course. Deron Williams won this event in 2005 and holds the record at just over 25 seconds. He is an excellent choice. I also like Kyrie Irving as a bit of a wildcard, he hit 13-14 shots in the Rising Stars game, is quick and can hit the outside jumper.
Take Kyrie Irving +500 or Deron Williams +350 at BetOnline.com, BetOnline has the best odds available for All-Star Weekend.
Three Point Shootout
Anthony Morrow +300
James Jones +350
Kevin Love +650
Mario Chalmers +350
Ryan Anderson +325
Kevin Durant +250
I don’t think KD or Love gets it done here. This one will be won by a lesser known shooters, Chalmers leads this group in three point percentage at .456. I like Anthony Morrow though, he is a career .439 percent shooter from behind the arc and no one seems to be talking about him.
Bet Anthony Morrow +300 at BetOnline.com, offering the best odds on All-Star Weekend.
Sprint Slam Dunk Contest
Chase Budinger +180
Derrick Williams +325
Paul George +200
Jeremy Evans +370
A lot of good choices here, Budinger was a runner up in the McDonald’s All American Dunk Contest in 2006. The guy can get big time air and is an excellent safe choice. Derrick Williams has just as good of a chance as Paul George to win this and no one really knows too much about Jeremy Evans.
Budinger +180, Derrick Williams +325 at BetOnline.com
NBA All-Star Game East vs. West
West All-Stars +2.5 at East All-Stars 7:30 EDT Sunday February 25th
An All-Star game is nearly impossible to predict, I think the West has a better team and they are underdogs, so they might be worth a play. For Most Valuable Player, I like Kobe Bryant +500, Derek Rose +1000 and Dwight Howard +480.
