NBA All-Star Break 2019 Preview and Tips

The NBA All-Star break is finally upon us. It’s an opportunity for the best players in the game to get a break two-thirds the way through the regular season. More importantly for us; we get to see the most skilled players in the game showcase their talent. Beginning with the Skills Challenge, this event encompasses a variety of different elements including passing, dribbling & shooting in an obstacle course style format. The structure has changed frequently in recent years, but they look to have settled on the model of pitting big men against guards with. Nets’ Spencer Dinwiddie prevailed last year, but retaining his title looks unlikely. This year offers some interesting participants...

Utah Jazz To Defeat Trail Blazers On Christmas Day

The Utah Jazz and the Portland Trail Blazers round out the schedule in the NBA on Christmas Day at the Vivint Smart Home Arena. Both of the two teams have been a fixture in the Western Conference playoffs for the past two seasons, although neither have been able to make an impact. The Jazz won the first round in back-to-back years before being dumped out by the powerhouses of the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets respectively. Portland didn’t even get that far, losing in the first round in successive campaigns without winning a game against the Warriors and the New Orleans Pelicans. Utah have been inconsistent this term, hovering just below .500 in their campaign. Quin...

Warriors To See Off LeBron And Lakers On Christmas Day

LeBron James faces his old foes the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day for the first time as a Los Angeles Laker, returning to Oracle Arena where he has enjoyed the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. The 33-year-old won the NBA Championship in the 2015/16 campaign when his Cleveland Cavaliers team defeated the Warriors in game seven of the NBA Finals, avenging their loss from the previous season. However, Golden State responded by beating the Cavaliers in back-to-back years. LeBron ended his time in Cleveland last season and moved to Los Angeles. He has improved the fortunes of the Lakers to no end, guiding them into contention for the playoffs. They’re in step with the leading...

Will Boston Continue Winning Run Over Philadelphia?

The Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers lock horns on Christmas Day in a battle that could define the Eastern Conference. The two sides met in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals last season where the Celtics eased through to the Conference Finals with a 4-1 victory. Boston and Philadelphia are both teams on the rise, having gone through tough times in their recent history. The 76ers endured more hardship than their rivals, but are now stocked with talent and will be desperate to prove a point on the road. The Celtics have been widely inconsistent this term. When they’ve been on form they’ve been outstanding, but when they’ve under performed they’ve been putrid on the...

Rockets Need A Special Christmas Day Display

The Houston Rockets will aim to kickstart an underwhelming campaign when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Christmas Day. Houston have not been able to conjure the magic of their last campaign, operating with a .500 record. The club reached the Western Conference Finals in the previous season and were only beaten by the brilliance of the Golden State Warriors. Mike D’Antoni’s men won the top seed with the best record in the Western Conference, but at the time of writing have almost lost the same amount games this term as they did in the entirety of the last campaign. James Harden remains at the peak of his powers, but he and his team-mates have to improve their level of...

Bucks To Dominate Knicks On Christmas Day

The Milwaukee Bucks have made strong start to their 2018/19 season and will have the opportunity to showcase their NBA Playoff credentials in their clash against the New York Knicks on Christmas Day. Milwaukee were knocked out of the playoffs at the first hurdle for the second term on the bounce. Milwaukee were able to take the Boston Celtics all the way to game seven, but were defeated at the TD Garden. Former NBA Coach of the Year Mike Budenholzer was appointed as their new head coach as interim boss Joe Prunty made way. He has taken the team forward in his short stint and will be eager to continue their run in the second half of the campaign. Giannis Antetokounmpo continues...

I’m Joe Franklin, I’ve been betting sports for over 10 years and I have been a profitable NBA bettor for as long as I can remember. I use many factors when deciding which teams to back each day, and one of the most important is choosing the correct sportsbook. We’ve listed out top 5 picks below.

The most important aspect of NBA Betting is keeping up on the latest injuries, often times injuries are not known until closer to tip off and a big injury can send the line in another direction.

I also, do my homework. The NBA is my life during the regular season as I am watching games or researching picks. I read local reports from writers all across the country and I am up to date on the latest happenings.

I understand the team chemistry and the frenetic pace of this year’s lockout shortened season. Teams are tired and vulnerable more often, keeping track of team chemistry and fatigue are essential. In addition, I’ll be posting the best line I can find along with my picks to give our readers, a great bet and a good price!

How it works:

A couple times a week I will post a few plays for that night’s NBA action, depending on how much a like a certain play, I will bet a set number of units.

I don’t like to differentiate too much from the amount I bet, so my selections will usually only be for 1 or 2 units per play. A unit is your standard bet amount for your bankroll, be sure to follow a bankroll strategy that works for you, this usually only risking 2% to 5% of your bankroll on any given day.

I’ll post the plays at least a few hours before game time and recommend a reputable sportsbook with the best line. In addition to that, I’ll post my win/loss record and my net units for the season.

I’m going to start with a bankroll of 100 units. So if my bankroll is $1000, then I will have 100 $10 units to wager with. After each night of games, I’ll update my current bankroll to see how we have performed to date. I’ll use the following format:

Starting Bank: 100
Current Bank: 100
Profit / Loss:

If you wish to send me questions, comments or feedback, just send a mail to joe at sbo.net

Best of luck with all your picks this season. Thanks!
