Jazz Sports Review
Jazz Sports are one of those bookmakers who are pushing the boundaries by targeting US based bettors despite online betting being illegal in the country. They get around the legislation by locating themselves in San José, Costa Rica. Jazz Sports is one of many bookmakers operated by the same group, and it has been in operation since 1994, so the company are clearly doing something right to have the longevity they have experienced. In addition to a sportsbook, Jazz Sports offer a racebook and casino. The company pride themselves on offering high limits to customers and they are willing to accommodate professional bettors and those recreational punters alike. Jazz Sports sound like the quintessential US facing bookmaker, but do we recommend them? Find out by reading our review.
Viewing On A Desktop
Jazz Sports utilise a navy-blue theme on their website, and their homepage features graphics showing the bonuses available and the markets customers can bet on. There is information on the racebook for bettors on the homepage and clients can navigate to the sportsbook, casino, racebook or banking pages by clicking on the links located on the horizontal menu bar.
The list of sports can be found on the left-hand side of the page and the odds for a variety of sports are positioned in the centre of the page. When customers select a sport from the list, they have to select a checkbox, which brings the markets up in the main portion of the page. These markets will stay there until the box is unchecked, so individuals can potentially have odds for matches from baseball, rugby, tennis and golf all up at one time on the screen.
The site map is located at the bottom of the page, and here there are links to banking, help, contact pages and more.
US facing bookmakers typically like to stick to the mantra of their clients – ‘bigger is better’ and Jazz Sports are no different when it comes to their bonuses. Clients can choose from several different sign-up bonuses depending on their risk preference:
10% cash bonus – 4x rollover requirement
15% cash bonus – 5x rollover requirement
20% cash bonus – 8x rollover requirement
30% free play bonus – 5x rollover requirement
50% free play bonus – 8x rollover requirement
100% free play bonus -12x rollover requirements
The free play bonuses are bigger than the cash bonuses as there is a difference. Cash bonuses immediately into a user’s balance, whereas the free play bonus must be won in order to show on the account. Naturally, free play bonuses are harder to win and keep and therefore the concessions are larger.
To qualify for these bonuses, the minimum deposit must be $100 (the maximum bonus is $500). In addition to the sign-up bonus, clients can also receiver 20% cashback on net losses each month etc.
Jazz Sports provide customers with a fair spread of sports to choose from. The meat and potatoes for most using the site will be disciplines such as baseball, American football and basketball, but for those sides and condiments, bettors might want to dabble in golf, tennis, boxing, cycling, real football (soccer) and rugby. In addition to pre-game odds, Jazz Sports also offer live lines on action as it unfolds.
At the time of review, the MLB (Major League Baseball) is in full swing in the USA, while American football and basketball are in the offseason, so naturally, the betting emphasis falls on the bat and ball. The main three markets offered on matches are the Moneyline, Total Runs and Spread (handicap). The odds are very competitive with the Moneyline compiling to 102-102.5%, the Total Runs 104-104.5% and the Spread 103-103.5% (100% would indicate a book without an inbuilt margin for the bookmakers, so as close to that number as possible is desirable).
In addition to the MLB, customers can also wager on baseball games in Mexico, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. Naturally, the odds in these leagues are not quite so competitive as in the MLB, as there is less information available in the public domain regarding teams and players etc. and consequently traders are a little more cautious when pricing up the markets.
The NFL is the biggest betting sport in the USA and despite being months from the regular season, Jazz Sports already offer odds. Clients of the sportsbook can bet on individual matches, outright conference winners, overall winner, most passing yards and much more. There is also a section devoted to NCAA American football which is incredibly popular in the country.
It is difficult to get a handle on the soccer leagues covered by Jazz Sports as they only show the markets which are current. Therefore with most leagues having their off-season, there are only prices for matches from a handful of countries. The MLS in the USA is midway through the season and in addition to the competitively priced 1X2, Spread and Total Goals markets, customers can also bet on Total Goals by each team. European bookmakers tend to offer significantly more in the way of prop bets, but what firms such as Jazz Sports do to compensate for their lack of additional markets, is provide low margins. Essentially, they are designed for the more serious staking bettor.
There are a solid number of payment types on offer at Jazz Sports for clients wanting to fund their accounts:

Jazz Sports have a three-pronged customer service attack; they offer phone numbers, e-mails and live chat.

The customer support cover several online sportsbooks, so they perhaps aren’t as efficient as they should be.
Jazz Sports do not list any restricted jurisdictions on their website. When signing up for an account, the default setting is the USA, but all of the major countries around the world are listed on the sign-up form.
Jazz Sports don’t have a downloadable mobile app, but they are conscious of the growing use and importance of having a mobile optimised website and they even dedicate a section on their site to show how to use the sportsbook when logging on from a handheld device. Customers land on a login page and have the opportunity to choose from the sportsbook or racebook. Secondly, the player gets the opportunity to pick the type of bet they want (straight wager, parlay, win reverse etc.).
Following on, they can choose their sport and stake and place their wager. There are also live odds for the variety of sports on offer at the site. Customers can also access their banking and other aspects of the site that are available on the main desktop website. For those individuals who don’t like the layout of the mobile site and want to use the desktop site, there is a link in the upper right-hand corner of the app which will switch the format back (not advisable in our opinion).
Jazz Sports live up to their reputation as a solid US-facing bookmaking. They are recommended.
