Website Design

The landing page is heavily focused on the casino products, with a variety of graphics displaying the various games on offer throughout the site. The sports tab is located across the menu bar at the top of the page, and once the link is followed, customers can access the bookie. The list of available sports is displayed down the left hand side of the page, with live and upcoming events in the centre. At the top of the page, there is a search bar, which enables customers to quickly look for their bets by typing in the name etc. without having to go through all the links. The bet slip appears in the bottom left hand corner of the page when a selection has been made.

Grosvenor bookmaker has a fairly extensive statistics section (powered by Betradar), which can help clients make better informed wagering decisions. There is also a live score feature, giving updates on the games in different sports. Both of these links are a little hidden away, but can be accessed at the bottom left hand corner of the page, underneath the sports.

Overall, the Grosvenor bookmaker website looks good. It would be nice to see some more promotion sport on the homepage, as the casino-centric marketing could make potential customers think that the bookie has been neglected and isn’t up to much, but once on the sports betting page, everything is easy to access and intuitive.

Promotions

Grosvenor provide a number of bonuses for their casino customers, but also offer a sign up promotion for users of their bookie. The tag line is ‘Bet £5. Get £20’. The deal is for players to bet their first £5 on a selection with odds of 1.50  or greater, and receive a free £20 bet. The free bet must be used within 7 days of being credited to the users account, but there does not appear to be any rollover requirement, which is nice in today’s climate where bettors are usually required to turn over their free bet and initial deposit several times before it can be withdrawn.

Sports Markets & Odds

It is refreshing to see such a comprehensive list of sports available on the Grosvenor bookmaker. In total, customers have 40 different disciplines to choose from. The overwhelming emphasis is on football, but more niche and obscure sports are not neglected. Lovers of yachting, WWE, winter sports, trotting, surfing, squash, pesapello, futsal and chess can all find odds to bet on their favourite sports.

As previously mentioned, Grosvenor bookmaker list the number of bets available next to each sport. To give an idea of how football-centric the site is (as most online bookies are, as that is where the demand is), at the time of review, there were 47,208 bets available for customers to choose from. The second biggest was basketball, following by ice hockey, with both sports having just over 5,000 different bet types available.

For football betting, the depth of the markets is highly impressive. For English Premier League matches, there are on average an additional 175-185 bets for each match, on top of the 1X2 odds. This competes will all of the industry stalwarts. Customers can bet on player bookings, first scorers, players not to score, total goals etc. There really is an impressive choice for customers. Whilst Grosvenor bet do not offer market leading odds for football matches, they are definitely in the upper echelons and are competitive when looked at the whole spectrum of the industry. Premier League games are compiled to 104-104.5% which is very decent.

The site does offer horse racing and greyhound racing (two staples of the British bettor’s diet), but don’t seem to have the Best Odds Guaranteed promotion that is common with the majority of firms who offer the sport of kings. Races aren’t priced up the day before the action, so customers have to wait until a few hours before the off before they can get their bets on. The early odds for the horse racing markets are far from competitive. Looking at two races – 12 runners and 8 runners (roughly two hours before the off), the respective total book percentages were 127.2% and 118.4%. That equates to a profit margin of over 2% per runner, which isn’t very generous to customers. Putting this in perspective, Bet365’s books compiled to 118% and 112%, giving a 1.5% margin per runner (the closer the total book is to 100%, the more competitive the odds are.)

Currency & Banking

At present, customers can only deposit in pounds sterling. Customers have plenty of options when looking to fund their Grosvenor bookmaker account:

Visa
Mastercard
Maestro
Paypal
Neteller
Skrill
Paysafecard

It is nice to see several e-wallets available, as this method is becoming increasingly popular with bettors, due to the fast withdrawal times and the fact that the customers don’t have to keep on sending money back and forth to their bank when using different betting websites. Debit/credit card withdrawals can be made up to £15,000 per day. For anything more than that, clients need to contact customer services. There is a minimum of £5 withdrawal back to bank accounts.

Restricted Countries

At present, Grosvenor only accept players located in the United Kingdom, the Republic Of Ireland and Gibraltar. The website states that the ‘permitted jurisdictions’ may be adjusted from time to time. Check our country guide to find bookmakers in your area.

Customer Service

Customer services can be reached through three different avenues:
Telephone: 0800 083 1990
Email: support@grosvenorcasinos.com
Live chat: Live Chat

The support is available 24/7. Although the phone number is listed on the homepage, the links to e-mails and live chat are a little more difficult to find. Grosvenor could do a better job of advertising their customer support.

Mobile Devices

The Grosvenor casinos group has a mobile optimized website which will suit users of iOS and Android. When landing on the homepage, there are a list of all the live events in the centre of the page. The menu is accessible in the top left hand side of the page and the site is pretty responsive.

Summary

Grosvenor are obviously stalwarts of the gambling industry, but casinos making the transition to the world of sports betting can often struggle. However, this UK powerhouse has made a great transition, ticking most of the important boxes when it comes to running a successful bookmaker. They are recommended.
