Proper Promotions or Ordinary Offers?

Promotions can really form the back bone of an online bookie so when we’re reviewing sites like this across the internet it’s always one of the first things we check. We like to see sites not shy away from their promotional offers. Sometimes they hide them in a corner and there have been times when they’ve not even had any promotions to offer.

Fortunately, Gamebet are not a bunch of mugs. Not only do they have these promotions but they are telling you about them loud and proud. If you miss the text link at the top of the home page then there is the graphical icon in the middle of the page that is represented by a gift box. It is tactically positioned next to other key graphical links such as “sport”, “poker”, and “casino”. You can’t miss it. If you do then you don’t deserve any of their promotional offers!

Once you click on the promotions link it takes you to a separate window. As we said, they’re not coy about showing off their offers. It’s at this point that you will probably feel a little underwhelmed. The selection of offers is limited. That’s putting it generously. If you’ve come for a plethora of sports betting bonuses then you’re going to be bitterly disappointed.

A promotional offer that relates to a first deposit bonus is the only benefit that sports punters can take advantage of at this site. All the pomp and bravado that has come with Gamebet bookmaker wanting to direct you to their promotional page and it’s mainly the casino and poker players that are targeted.

It’s a bit of a slap in the face to the sports betting members but let’s not try to act spoilt here. The first deposit bonus is something and it’s one that is a heck of a lot more lucrative than others on the market. Yes, you could say something is better than nothing. It’s just a shame because we had such high hopes. Maybe over time they will learn and offer something extra to sports betting customers. If you’re reading this, Gamebet bookmaker, then do it! Do it now!

Sports Betting Strength in Numbers?

Is it fair to judge a bookmaker by the number of sports markets it has to offer its customers? Well, it never does any harm to offer more markets but if the odds aren’t competitive then it might be a redundant factor. Who wants to bet on handball when the bookmaker is bottom in terms of value compared to its rivals?

The set-up of the sports betting screen is navigationally friendly. It’s split into three columns with tabs listed down the left-hand side to allow you to pick which sports markets you want to view. These include the likes of footballtennis, and boxing. It also offers some less popular markets such as volleyball, table tennis, and badminton. A little something for everyone. The odds offered aren’t bad either. The markets on the US sports are particularly interesting.

Now, what’s the score with those three columns I hear you ask? Well, the left column offers you the chance to select between the live markets and pre-event markets. It’s great to have these all in one place because often you can be scrapping around to find them with a lot of bookies emphasising one or the other.

The middle column is where you’ll find the bulk of the information. Tabs including event view, dashboard, live overview, live multi-view, and live calendar ensure that you can have as much information as possible in front of you. This will list all the in-play and upcoming markets.

Then there is the right-hand column that displays quirky features such as the betting slip, a quick bet option, and the chance to customise your sports betting experience by selecting the odds type and overall display view.

We’re not done there yet though. We mentioned above that there’s a “cybersports” section. Sounds exciting doesn’t it! For those technophobes of you out there, that’s simply esports. Markets for games including Dota 2, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are available to wager on here. It’s a replica display to the sports betting section so you’re on familiar territory.

Finally, Gamebet bookmaker delivers one of the largest virtual sports sections we’ve come across. It has a whole section dedicated to those markets. Most bookies throw it in as a token gesture but Gamebet goes all out. We’re talking about virtual horse racing, virtual greyhounds, and virtual football amongst many other virtual sports. It’s breath-taking stuff if you love your virtual sports.

Making a Mark on Mobile

Mobile betting is experiencing a surge in popularity and has done for a while. Any time you hear something gambling related to do with online products you can guarantee that mobile and in-play is mentioned to some extent.

The Gamebet bookmaker app can be downloaded on all Android and iOS devices. We had asked their customer service staff about whether it was available to download on Blackberry and Windows devices but we sadly didn’t receive any response but there is no mention of it on their site.

In terms of how it functions, the mobile app isn’t too bad. It falls short compared to some mobile products of rival bookies but it’s nowhere near as terrible as some on the market. Satisfactory is probably the best word to use with a little room for improvement.

It stays true to the online product but it can get a bit fiddly in places. Hopefully, this will be something the technical team at Gamebet work to remedy over the coming years. If they can offer a mobile product that is identical to the online offering then they could have something very special on their hands. As of right now, they’re not quite there.

Payment Processing Perfection

How many times have we seen it where we review what appears to be a very solid bookmaker only to be let down by the pathetic payment processing methods? It’s a common problem. Is it a problem that Gamebet also suffers? Let’s put it this way. It’s a sketchy topic.

One thing you can’t deny is that Gamebet bookmaker offers a wide range of options for you to deposit and withdraw funds. Depositing options include Mastercard, Visa, and Neteller but there’s also room for some less frequently used options such as WebMoney, Moneta.ru, and Qiwi.

On the withdrawal front, it’s less flexible. The site only lists four methods of withdrawal. Once again, we did ask customer support if there were more than these four but the lines went silent. Clearly, there are some questions their customer service does not like answering.

It’s an alarm bell if we’re being honest. The lack of clarity and transparency when it comes to withdrawal methods is something that can get customers and potential members twitchy. We’re not saying that Gamebet participate in shady dealings but it muddies the water and that’s never a good sign.

Still, when we put our ear to the ground, we heard mixed reviews. Some customers couldn’t speak highly enough of Gamebet and its payment processes. Others were like a red sky in the morning and seemed intent on warning us about how many issues they’d experienced.

How Safe and Trustworthy is Gamebet?

At the start of this review, we had high hopes. As we have progressed through the different sections and checked out different areas of the site things have become a little bit sceptical. It’s obvious that Gamebet is an interesting site that generally has a decent product at its heart.

The only trouble is that there are moments when we suspect that all might not be as it seems. When reviewing this site we were informed that it had achieved a UK licence. It turns out this is not the case. It begs the question why the site offers GBP currency.

We’re not saying there’s anything sinister going on here. The licence awarded to the site is confirmed by the Malta Gaming Authority. That’s legit. You know you’re in safe hands. It’s not like they’ve bought a license off a dodgy Denzil from a back street in Curacao.

There is the impression given that Gamebet doesn’t quite have a grasp of everything it is or needs to be. Does that suggest that your security at the site is jeopardised? It’s extremely unlikely but it doesn’t do much to re-assure you.

The operator states that your data is protected as you would expect and that it enforces a responsible gambling policy. At face value, everything is in place. There’s just that nagging feeling that things could perhaps be a little bit tighter.

Our interactions with their customer support team was almost like we were speaking to border guards on the outskirts of 1980s Volgograd. They were happy to help until we started asking questions they didn’t like. What sort of questions? Ones such as which countries are restricted access and why has it been claimed they have a UK licence when they don’t accept UK players? We are awaiting their answers.

Gamebet: The Final Judgement

Gamebet bookmaker is a site that is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful we’ve reviewed. The stunning graphics and slick layout rival the best in the business. Yes, we have mentioned about some grey areas where it feels the site has let itself down. The lack of communication from the customer support team was disconcerting but from speaking to customers that have used the site there have been no complaints out of the ordinary.
