2.00 Chepstow – Rosie Royce
Favourite Sirajiah is greatly respected and could be a tough nut to crack, but Rosie Royce ran an eye catching race on debut and assuming the dead 8 run, she makes a great each-way bet.
The daughter of Acclamation was noticeably short at 4/1 5.00 +400 4.00 4.00 -0.25 for her racecourse debut and Sandown. Finished 8th, but that does not tell the whole story, as she was hampered and had no racing room at the business end of proceedings. Henry Candy knows the time of day with his 2 year olds and his second time out runners who did not win on debut are 28/157 (17.83%) for £66.23 LSP, giving an A/E of 1.51. There should be no tough luck stories this time out and with the benefit of that run, should be able to give a good account of herself.
Little Voice is the highest runner in the field, but she has had plenty of chances and may have been an early season type who has not quite gone on. Favourite Sirajiah is from the powerful William Haggas yard, and went off favourite at Leicester. Ran green and that run will not have been lost on her. At the odds though, Rosie Royce rates the each-way bet.
6.40 Kempton – Yours Truly
Godolphin are a top class operation who deal with talented animals. Although clearly not one of the stable leading lights, if judged by market expectations, then Yours Truly definitely has ability. Short enough on debut, and favourite second time out, he has shown just a modest level of form on the racetrack, but switched to the all-weather and with the first time visor on, he could be a different proposition today.
The debut run at Bath was promising. A bit clueless early, he got the message late on and stayed on into third without really troubling the first two. Was duly stepped up in distance to 10 furlongs next time out and went off favourite at Windsor, but didn’t really step forward on that run. Is stepped up a further 2 furlongs in distance and the headgear should help the daughter of Dark Angel focus on her racing more.
Saeed Bin Suroor is a master of the all-weather. His horses who are making their first start on the artificial surface are 99/271 (36.53%) for £80.11 LSP, giving an A/E of 1.38. They really do improve when hitting the all-weather. This horse has stamina to prove, but the race is fairly weak and she is worth a small bet purely off her previous market positions and the yards record with their turf to all-weather switchers.
