Ninepointsixthree to lead us home at Wolverhampton

3.10 Wolverhampton – Ninepointsixthree

Some Deja Vu with Thursday’s selection found in another small field on the all-weather. Ninepointsixthree has to be the call in the 5 runner class 6 handicap at Wolverhampton over 2miles and a half a furlong. This horse has burst into life in last two starts, winning over 12f at Wolverhampton, and then demolishing his field over the same course and distance next time out. Is probably not odds on due to question marks punters will have over the horse’s ability to stay. However, if you take a look through the form, he finished 2nd over hurdles on heavy ground at Lingfield over 2miles on third career start. Although the two codes cannot be compared completely accurately, it is promising for his prospects of seeing out the yardage.

Furthermore, in his last victory, around 5f from home, Joe Fanning was unsatisfied with the pace and brought Ninepointsixthree out wide and to the lead. He committed fully 3f from home, with the horse bolting up by 5 lengths, suggesting the jockey knew that the horse was a stayer. In a smaller field, he should be okay with the trip and if he stays, he wins, it is as simple as that. The 2.25Bet €100 to win €2255/4Bet £100 to win £225+125Bet $100 to win $2251.25Bet HK$100 to win HK$2251.25Bet Rp100 to win Rp225-0.8000Bet RM100 to win RM225 available looks a fair price about John O’Shea’s runner continuing his winning streak.

The main opposition appears to come from the Mick Channon trained 4 year old filly Stoneham. Had generally competed over 8-10f on the flat, but has run with credit over course and distance last two starts. Hasn’t been finishing like a train but has handled the hike up in distance. On the negative side, the horse has just a solitary victory from 20 attempts, and 4 year old fillies don’t have a fantastic record in handicaps at this time of year.
