William Haggas’ Mythical Moment provides us with a ‘dirty’ each way selection at Lingfield. A twice raced maiden, the daughter of Authorized sports the first time hood, and could find improvement forthcoming now she steps up in trip and wears the headgear.
Relatively short in the betting for both of her 2 year old starts, she somewhat disappointed, but this race lacks strength in depth and a reproduction of her latter run at Doncaster would have her in the mix for a place here. The favourite comes in the form of the consistent Justice Belle from the Ed Walker yard. This one has posted some solid form figures, but has finished 2nd in last 4 runs. Could be a case of bumping into one each time, but horses that fill the runners up spot too often should be treated with a little caution.
Haggas has a 42% strike rate in the last 2 weeks and has a very impressive 32% strike rate overall at Lingfield. What’s more, his 3 year olds in maiden company, who have had a maximum of two starts, are running in January-July and have been off for 8 weeks or more do very well; 50/157 (31.85%) for £73.92 LSP, giving an A/E of 1.31.
With the yard keeping hold of this filly, it would be disappointing if she couldn’t do better this year and odds of 3/14.00+3003.003.00-0.33 in an 8 runner race, looks good value.
