Hallelujah to Provide Divine Intervention at Kempton
8.25 Kempton – Hallelujah
Kempton hosts a fascinating high class conditions race on Wednesday night, with a number of quality animals lining up. Although far from the highest rated runner in the race, the conditions of the race are likely to suit the James Fanshawe trained Hallelujah the best. The son of Avonbridge is proven on the all-weather and although he returns from a 228 day absence, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue with the yard (able to get their horses fit first time back).
Hallelujah is a 7 year old mare, and a consistent one at that. Rated 100, she finished a close up third on her final start last year in a Listed contest at Lingfied. 3 from 6 on the all-weather, she is tactically versatile and has won over course and distance in a small field before, so ticks plenty of the boxes.
Chookie Royale is rated 11lbs higher than the selection on official ratings, but he may be better over a little further. Is a significantly better horse on the all-weather (rated 19lbs lower on turf) and the switch back to the artificial surfaces is sure to suit. Is likely to be ridden prominently to make the most of his stamina, but has to bounce back to form.
Lancelot Du Lac is the other higher rated horse in the field. Has had a mini break but as a hold up horse, he is likely to be unsuited by the smallish field.
Hallelujah loves the all-weather, handles conditions and is very consistent. With the dead 8 runners, she represents a solid each-way bet with the hope that the market leaders underperform.
