Appealing Odds for Crowning Glory

July 15, 2015

15th-july

1.40 Lingfield – Crowning Glory

Ralph Beckett’s 2 year old debutant Crowning Glory represents a speculative bet in the opening maiden at Lingfield. Her odds of 10.00Bet €100 to win €10009/1Bet £100 to win £1000+900Bet $100 to win $10009.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$10009.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp1000-0.1111Bet RM100 to win RM1000 seem appealing given the yard’s prowess with 2 year old fillies.

A well related daughter of Speightstown, Crowning Glory breaks from stall 4 which isn’t ideal at Lingfield, but at least she should get some cover early as the runners tend to congregate at the rail. The sire is 9/52 with first time out 2 year olds for £4.83 LSP, giving an A/E of 1.27 – a promising statistic. Furthermore, Beckett’s first time out 2 year old fillies from June onwards do very well; 25/161 (15.53%) for £81.58 LSP, producing an A/E of 1.66.

There are two potential improvers from the Godolphin yard in the field, and the favourite is the Richard Hannon trained Stroke Of Midnight who has shown fair form over 5 furlongs, but has to contend with stall 1.

6.35 Sandown – Coolcalmcollected

Chris Wall’s Coolcalmcollected has a favourites’ chance of taking the Class 5 7 furlong contest at Sandown. Well backed last time out when finishing a creditable third, she should enjoy the track and is likely to be better placed in the race.

Her run at Leicester last time out was the second since returning to action for the season. In a 16 runner field, her 3rd place finish was commendable, given that the first two berths were occupied by horses who were prominently ridden. The second from that race has since gone on to score, so the form looks solid.

As mentioned, the daughter of Acclamation was well backed that day – a significant signal coming from the shrewd Chris Wall yard. They don’t often leave their money behind twice and his runners who were beaten favourites on their last start have an impressive record; 85/359 (23.68%) for £142.75 LSP, giving an A/E of 1.42.

The main market rival comes in the form of the Roger Varian trained Delaire. The son of Sakhee’s Secret remains a maiden and is dropped in trip after some uninspiring efforts over further. Getting a pound from her rival, it would be disappointing if Coolcalmcollected can not get the job done.
