Website

The first thing that sticks out on the landing page is a glaring grammatical error. Instead of ‘Don’t lose your chance today! Bet & win’, the text reads ‘Don’t loose your chance today! Bet & win’. Quite unprofessional.

The landing page adopts a blue, yellow and white theme, with sliding graphics advertising the bookie, casino and games. Customers can access the sports by clicking on the link at the top of the page, and once redirected, they are presented with a conventional betting sites layout. A list of sports can be found down the left hand side of the page, whilst there are live and upcoming events in the middle. The stake limits for each game are indicated underneath the odds, which is a practice only a few firms undertake. On the right hand side of the page, customers can find the bet slip and further promotions for the casino and games section of the website.

Surprisingly, there is both a web app and a downloaded app for iOS devices. The web app is sorted on most modern platforms, but for those struggling to use OddsRing bookmaker on their mobile, the suggestion is to use Opera Mini (a popular web browser). The web app should automatically be loaded when visiting the website from a mobile device, and while on the move, customers can visit the sports, live betting and games sections of the website.

Languages

The website can be viewed in English, Germany, Czech, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Portuguese and Turkish.

Markets

Odds for football, tennis, ice hockey, basketball, aussie rules, badminton, bandy, boxing, darts, floorball, handball, mma, rugby, volleyball and water polo are available. The list of sports totals 15, which is low by industry standards (most tend to compile odds for 20-30 different events)

There are 32 different countries covered in the football betting, which is reasonable. The South American coverage is relatively strong, with odds available for matches in Venezuela, Peru, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Colombia, Chile and Brazil.

For football matches, the number of additional bet types for each game is very limited. For instance, two hours before the English Championship match between Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth, on top of the 1X2 prices, there were just 14 additional bets. To compare, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have 77 extra bets, BetVictor 78 and Betway 103.

Both the men’s ATP and women’s WTA tour are covered, with matches from several events from around the world priced up at any one time. There are typically around 5 extra bet types per match, including number of sets, total games, correct score, first set winner and second set winner.

Basketball betting encompasses games from 15 countries around the world, as well as international competition such as the Baltic Basketball League, Euroleague and the Liga ABA. NBA matches in the USA are the most popular with punters and typically have around 9 additional bet types, including the 1X2, Asian handicap, total points, halftime/fulltime, overtime etc.

While the NHL is the world’s premier ice hockey league, OddsRing also compile odds for a number of the European leagues, including  Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland. Ice hockey matches usually have around 17 additional bet types for European matches, which is similar to Paddy Power, a little behind Betway, and better than BetVictor

To compliment the mainstream sports, OddsRing do provide prices for a small number of more niche events such as bandy and handball. The markets for these sports are however, shallow.

Odds

The competitiveness of odds can be determined by how close to a 100% book the odds compile to. A 100% book represents a set of odds for an event that do not include any inbuilt profit margin for the bookmakers.

Taking a cross section of the top football leagues across Europe (England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France), the odds generally compiled to 105-107% books. This figure is about a standard for the industry and is in line with firms such as Paddy Power and Ladbrokes. Surprisingly, the English Premier League is no more competitive in terms of odds, than the other major leagues, with the odds for French and German games sometimes even better.

The ice hockey odds tend to operate in the 106-108% bracket, which can certainly be considered fair. Taking a look at a cross section of basketball games from around the world, the prices equate to 106-107.5%, which is again reasonable. There are no standout odds with OddsRing, but they are not overly greedy with their margins.

Limits

As mentioned, OddsRing post their staking limits for each game underneath the odds. There doesn’t immediately appear to be too much logic behind their limits. Take for example, the Liverpool v Man City, Barclays Premier League game. Punters can bet a maximum of 1,900 USD on Liverpool, 2,900 USD on Manchester City, but they can stake 10,000USD on the draw. In this game, the draw is the bigger price, and thus to control liabilities, OddsRing could be expected to restrict stakes on this outcome.

Limits vary by sport, but for ATP tennis matches, customers can typically get between 200-1200 USD on a player in the win market. Similar stakes can be placed on basketball and ice hockey matches, although individual games do vary so it is worth checking.

Promotions

New customers are entitled to a sign up bonus of 200% up to $200 (or equivalent currency – customer can receive up to €200). To be able to withdraw the bonus, customers must accumulate their bonus amount x 25 in bonus points (a $200 bonus would require 5000 bonus points). 1 bonus point is earned for every $1 won or lost, so a $50 wager on a 2/1 shot that won would accumulate 100 points, and if it lost, it would add 50 bonus points. There is no time restriction on the promotion, and customers can withdraw their initial deposit and refund their accounts and the bonus points will not be lost.

Customer Services

OddsRing provide an email address (info@oddsring.com) and an online contact form for customers to speak to representatives. They also provide a business address for punters who wish to correspond via post:

Floor 4,
120 The Strand,
Gzira,
GZR1027,
Malta

There is no telephone number listed on the website.

Review

OddsRing don’t have a fantastic number of sports for punters to choose from. However, on the plus side, their depth of their main markets are reasonable and their odds are fair. The site has clearly not been written by a native English speaker and this makes it appear somewhat unprofessional, but the service on offer is okay, and there is no reason for punters not to have an OddsRing account in their punting armoury.
