Loose Lines Summary

Loose Lines are a bookmaker based out of Costa Rica. They are the sister to the popular Jazz Sports and are run by an experienced team. As with most firms based in Costa Rica, Loose Lines aim to obtain the majority of their business from North America.

This usually means that there is an emphasis on the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB leagues. But do Loose Lines focus on any other sports? What are their odds like, and how does the rest of their service compare? We take a look.

Viewing On A Desktop?

Finally! An American bookmaker who have invested some time and effort into their website. The landing page is very clean, eye-catching and informative, with big scrolling graphics illustrating the sports on offer and upcoming odds. Underneath, customers can view the different promotions on offer, and they are also alerted to the fact that if Bitcoin is used, then all withdrawals are free. Clients can flick between the Sportsbook, Racebook, Live Betting, Casino and Live Casino via the horizontal menu bar located towards the top of the page, and in order to access all of the markets offered by Loose Lines, the user can log in at the top right-hand corner of the homepage.

Once into the site, clients are greeted with a list of odds for events that are going to start soon. These are subdivided into different sports so there is no confusion amongst bettors. Like most US sites, customers can only access all of the sports and events once they have selected their bet type. A variety of different bet types are listed across the screen and once one of these links has been clicked, then the sports appear.

Freebies!

Loose Lines are big into their promotions, and there is a plethora for bettors to choose from. The main sign up bonus is a 50% free play and 15% rebate on losses. The free play comes with a 8x deposit + bonus rollover requirement (max bonus $500). Alternatively, bettors can choose a 100% free play bonus by depositing $100 or more (15x rollover requirements with a maximum wager of $250 on deposits between $250-500.)

Loose Lines also offer ad hoc bonuses such as reduced juice on certain sports (-105 on each team giving a total book percentage of 102.4%) and overall their bonuses have to be considered very good.

Sports & Markets

The odds compilers at Loose Lines appear to have expertise in a variety of different sporting disciplines. The bookmaker enables bettors to strike wagers on soccer, baseball, American football, basketball, golf, tennis, motor racing, boxing and politics. The firm also put up prices for other events when they are close to starting. In addition to the win markets, Loose Lines also provide a range of prop bets for bettors to get their teeth stuck into.

Loose Lines have made a concerted effort to cover as much ‘soccer’ as possible and their site hosts odds for more matches than virtually all of other US-facing sportsbooks based in Central America. Customers are able to bet on matches from England, Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Japan, Romania, Russia, Scotland and much more.
For matches in the English Premier League (the most popular competition for bettors), the following odds were observed:

Moneyline – 105.8%
Total Goals – 103.5%
Spread – 103.6%

Interestingly, the odds for the Spread (Asian handicap) and Total Goals markets were more competitive than the Moneyline (nice margins for bettors). The Moneyline is likely to have more juice than the other two bet types as there are three possible outcomes (as the draw is included), compared to the others which just have two.

What was surprising, but is perhaps refreshing for bettors who like to look outside of the English Premier League was that the Moneyline odds all compiled to the same 105.8%. For leagues such as Norway and Finland, these sorts of margins are favourable when compared with many other bookmakers. The Total Goals and Spread odds are not quite as competitive as the Premier League, but hey, you can’t have it all!

American football and in particular the NFL is the main betting sport in the USA. With hype growing behind the new season, Loose Lines have taken advantage, offering odds on things such as Most Passing Yards, Most Receiving Yards, Regular Season Player Props and much more. At the time of review, the season was two months out. Loose Lines had bets on the Spread and Totals for each game but no Moneyline odds. The other two bet types compiled to 103.8% which is okay, but not market leading. As the games approach and more is known about the teams, injuries etc. the odds can be expected to contract.

There are plenty of different betting opportunities for golf fanatics. For instance, players can bet on a variety of match ups for The PGA Championships. In these head to heads, punters can bet on the Moneyline and the Spread. Both sets of odds compiled to around 104.8% which is more than reasonable.

It would be remiss not to give attention to the racebook provided by Loose Lines. In addition to all of drab American action around a magnified greyhound track, clients can also wager on South African, French, Canadian, Australian, U.K and Irish action. There is the option to bet on the Win/Place/Show, with minimum bets being $1 and the maximum $500.

Betting On The Move

Due to the laws in the US, there is understandably no downloadable mobile app for customers to have on their phone. However, Loose Lines have developed a pretty slick mobile optimised website. The homepage focuses on promotions and also pushes Bitcoin as a good way of funding accounts. Clients can access the sportsbook, live lines, casino, and racebook by clicking on the menu bar in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Again bettors do need to be logged in to see all of the available bets and once logged in, customers can place their bets as they would do on the regular site. There is a live chat function which is available on the mobile app which is nice as not all firms have the facility to offer the live chat whilst customers are on the move. The mobile optimised website works on all iPhone and Android apps and gets the thumbs up.

SBO Verdict

Loose Lines have a very solid bookmaker with plenty of options for bettors. They come recommended.
