Bovada Sports Review

Bovada Sportsbook is a US citizen accepted sportsbook which many players knew as Bodog for years. In December 2011, Bodog left the US market and Bovada took on their United States clients. It is similar to Bodog in almost every way, and without the name change many players would not notice any discernible differences.

Betting Options

Like most other leading online books Bovada offers odds on nearly everything. It has your standard odds for football and basketball but also has more obscure sports such as cricket, snooker, and rugby. Standard action bets such as parlays are available, along with if and reverse bets. They also offer a great live in-play experience with tons of options for live wagering. If you look at the calendar, you will see a long list of events with hundreds of gambling opportunities each day. It also rivals any other online bookmaker with player props and each night the board is filled with NBA and NFL props.

The gambling menu is very easy to navigate, placing any type of bet can be done in just a few clicks. The interface is fast, seamless and it looks great. When you use the site you can see why Bodog, and now Bovada, have been able to attract sports bettors for over a decade.

Bonuses

The current bonus offer at Bovada is 50% Free Bet Bonus on your first deposit. When you join your first deposit will instantly be credited with a 50% free bet bonus up to $250. The standard rollover rate is a 3X your bonus and you can also unlock your bonus in the Casino or the online Poker room.

Security and Licensing

In this day and age security and making sure your funds are safe should be a top priority for the online sports bettor. Bovada and its parent company Bodog have had a great reputation in the industry and are rated highly by sportsbook watchdog sites. It is licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and operates out of Canada.

Professional vs. Recreational Bettors

In general, the site caters to the recreational sports bettors. The max bet online for most sides is $1000 and is even less for some sports, baseball sides and runlines for instance are a $500 max bet. Gambling large amounts and winning consistently may get your account limited, and your max bet size will be reduced. The book does, however, offer great underdog lines and many players say their prop bets are very soft.

Payouts

US facing online sportsbooks are now facing more scrutiny and a book today is often judged on how fast it can pay it’s customers. Bovada offers withdrawals by paper check and recent player reports say these checks are taking about two weeks to reach customers. Though, two weeks seems like a long time to wait for a payout, the company is actually getting checks to bettors faster than most other sites servicing Americans. Customers will receive one free check per month and any additional checks requested will incur a $50 fee. Additionally, some customers may be offered the bank wire withdrawal method, though normally this is reserved for larger payouts. Bank wire payouts normally also normally take about two weeks.

Overall

Bovada is one of the top sportsbooks for United States bettors. It has a decade long reputation of excellence and is still paying players faster than most other sites. With a great interface and a solid first deposit bonus, this site is a great asset for the US sports bettor.

I had been using 5dimes for the past 5 years and was happy with the service but a mate of mine persuaded me to try Bovada. I hadn’t heard the name before so was slightly reluctant at first. However I am now totally converted. Their site is ridiculously easy to navigate and offers markets other bookmakers dont. I use it to bet primarily on the Premier League but also use the casino section. The sign up bonus is good, although there may be better ones elsewhere, but it is worth signing up to use the site regulary. Would strongly recommend it to anyone unsure of who to start betting with, or anyone tempted to convert, as I did.

I spent a lot of time looking for good sign up promotions before I found Bovada. I made a deposit of $100 and had the $50 within 25 minutes. I managed to roll it over a few time on ‘safe’ bets before withdrawing a healthy profit. I still use the site as a general betting site as the odds are generally good. The site is easy to use but I don’t like the casino section.

Signed up to Bovada and got the 50% Welcome bonus. The bonus only goes up to $250 dollars and you have to roll it over but was easy to claim the free bet after registering.

Been using Bovada for a couple of years now and wouldn’t use any other sport book. Signed up originally purely for the welcome bonus (think it was around a 50% deposit bonus) but found the odds to be better than other sites. Haven’t used their casino so don’t know what that is like but for sports betting they are great.

Wasn’t sure Bovada was for me at first but love it now. I use sites to compare prices and they often have the best odds. Customer service is good too. My welcome bonus didn’t come through in time for last years Super Bowl so they offered me a 5% extra bonus. I used the code SLOTS500 and got $500 bonus in my account too!

Not good for UK based sports. Site is easy to use and good odds but too focused on American sports (Basketball, baseball etc)

Great for betting in-play on NFL games and also the UEFA Champions League section of the site is good, considering it is mainly an American sport site. I like how they give existing customers discounts and offers and not just sign up temptations. I wouldn’t bet anywhere else now.
