Website

Optibet have gone for the tried and tested three column layout that is ubiquitous with bookies around the globe. Utilising a red, grey, black and white theme, they have the list of sports down the left-hand side of the page, the odds in the centre of the page and the bet slip on the right hand side. Players can flick between promotions, sports, live bets, casino and live casino at the top of the page. Clients will be familiar with the layout of the website and will find it easy to navigate around. There is a search bar on the left-hand side of the page enabling customers to directly access their desired markets, and for those who want to see which events are coming up soon, there is a drop down menu enabling bettors to filter the matches and odds by starting time. There is a statistics section on the website, which is a little hidden away – players will have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the link.

Optibet sports have made their website available in English, Russian, Finnish and Lithuanian. Odds are presented in a decimal format. In addition to their .com website, Optibet also have a dedicated website for Latvian customers, which is Optibet.lv.

Sign Up Bonus?

OptiBet sports offer new customers a 50% bonus up to a maximum of €50, which is decent. There are terms and conditions attached to the offer – the deposit must be a minimum of €20 and has to be turned over a certain amount of times. The rollover requirement are fairly strict, but that is becoming par for the course in the industry as bookmakers look to crack down on bonus baggers – customers are required to wager the deposit plus bonus amount a total of 10 times (with odds of 1.80 or higher), in order to make the bonus balance withdrawable.

In addition to the sign up promotion, Optibet do have a VIP program, where customers earn points for betting, which can then be converted into money for free bets. A good incentive.

Sports Markets & Odds

For the casual bettor, it is always nice to see an extensive list of sports available on a bookmaker’s website as it enables them to have a wide selection when picking what to wager on. Optibet currently offer their clients 30 different sports to bet on, which is commendable. It goes without saying that lovers of the major sports are catered for, but for those who enjoy the events that get less coverage on TV and in the media, there are also odds. For instance, Optibet sports offer their clients the ability to bet on alpine skiing, beach football, pesapallo, sailing, ski jumping, cross country skiing, table tennis and the biathlon. Admittedly there are just odds on outright markets for some of these sports, but it is refreshing to see such a diverse range of events being offered.

Basketball is a sport that Optibet have focused on, and during the time of the NBA playoffs, there is a decent amount of market depth. The moneyline odds are the most popular for bettors (compile to a reasonable but not market leading 107%), but in addition, customers can bet on a variety of over/under lines, handicaps, half time/full time, and more. The ice hockey odds are broadly similar, with the top leagues compiling to just over 107%. Again, there is a decent helping of additional markets, giving players a variety of methods to try and turn a profit from betting on the game on ice.

Football is the most popular betting event with the majority of clients and as such, it gets the most coverage. As expected, the football odds are more competitive than those of all other sports offered by Optibet, and for the most part, this is the same with other bookmakers. Matches in the English Premier League are compiled to 104-104.5% which is very decent, and if it were a football team, Optibet sports would be competing for Europa League places with those margins. There are a plethora of betting opportunities for customers, with a variety of Asian handicap lines being offered.

Overall, there is a diverse range of sports on offer at Optibet, giving great choice for clients.

Currency

Customers are only able to deposit into their account using Euros at present. Optibet sports state that this is to ensure consistency, but in reality, it makes the job easier for the site administrators.

How Can You Fund Your Account?

Optibet present their customers with a range of different methods to add funds to their accounts:

Mastercard/Visa – Min €10, Max €5000
Skrill – Min €10, Max €5000
Neteller – Min €10, Max €5000
Euteller – Min €10, Max €5000

For bank transfers, customers must deposit from a bank account using their own name. Optibet state that withdrawal transactions involve several security checks and can take up to 5 business days, but in most cases it will be significantly faster. Furthermore, although the company will send money back to cards and e-wallets etc. they state that it is faster to send money back to back accounts.

Customer Support

The level of customer support is decent, with several methods for customers to get in touch with representatives of Optibet. Along with live chat, there is an e-mail address (support@optibet.com) and a phone number (+356 27780813) both manned from 09:00 till 21:00 EET. Furthermore for those who wish to write in, Optibet’s address is:

Red Sports Limited,
Reg. Nr. C 48670,
Level 1, Suite 5,
Tower Business Centre,
Tower Street, Swatar,
BKR 4013, Malta

The company do have an FAQ section that can help answer customer’s queries. The FAQ area is comprehensive, and is split up into a variety of topics, so players can often get the answer to their questions quickly just by looking through the website. Optibet offer a search bar within the FAQ, so clients can go directly to the section they require.

Mobile Betting

Unfortunately, mobile betting is where Optibet sports currently fall short. When accessing the website from a handheld device, customers are directly to the desktop website – there is no mobile optimised option, so players have to use the zoom feature on their phone to get around the bookie.

Verdict

Overall, Optibet sports have a very solid website, and they tick the majority of the boxes to be considered a decent bookmaker. Of course there is room for improvement, but for those looking for a range of sports and solid odds, then they are a good option.
