Layout & Design

The first thing to say about Betticket bookmaker is that it’s busy. Very busy. There is a lot going on – and to be fair most of it is pretty good – but if understatement and subtlety is your thing then this may not be the bookmaker for you. The site’s homepage gives you an instant idea of what’s coming with big, bold, brash coloured ads hitting you smack, bang between the eyes.

At the time of this review, heading these ads was a half-page cartoon for the upcoming World Cup, including a countdown clock; the rest of it is crammed full of colourful in-house offers and promotions. The site’s services, however, are what it’s all about and listed horizontally at the top of the page are ‘Live’, ‘Sports’, ‘Casino’, ‘Live Casino’, ‘Virtual Sports’ and ‘Promotions’.

Given that it’s Betticket’s bookmaker we’re interested in, we clicked on ‘Sports’ and were greeted with a page that differed slightly from the traditional norm. It’s only fair to say at this juncture that they offer the whole caboodle in either a classic or modern format – the modern being very much a simplified format against a plain white background – but it defaults to traditional, so that’s the one we will concentrate on.

Where Betticket bookmaker strays beyond the traditional norms is that you’re greeted with four columns! Not three… four. In truth, it doesn’t differ greatly from the tradition of 2018 online betting sites but what is normally one main body of a page with left and right sidebars, is, on Betticket, a main body that is split into two. And it works nicely. What tends to happen is that a main betting line in the left column is expanded upon in the right column, with all of the additional bets that pertain to that fixture being listed line-by-line.

The left sidebar very much follows the norm however and is where you will find an exhaustive list of all the sports for which Betticket offer markets. As a space saver, they initially offer said list in icon form – a ⚽for soccer – but the list can be expanded with a single click to reveal something that looks very familiar.

At the time of this review, the list offers 52 different sports/entertainment themes, which we’ll come onto in more detail later, with each one listing fixtures on a country-by-country basis. It’s a comprehensive list and one click on any county further drills down and ultimately fills the left side of the main body with a wide array of potential bets. And it works very well. It’s clear, concise, nicely presented and, unlike the site’s home page, is not overly fussy. A word we like to use, and which is the difference between an average bookmaker and a good bookmaker, is intuitiveness – and for that Betticket gets a big, fat tick. Everything works as you would expect it to work, everything is found where you would expect to find it, and everything works logically – not always a given. It genuinely offers a good betting experience.

Given the huge range of betting options available, it’s useful that the left sidebar is headed by a search window, giving bettors a quick route to their sport of choice.

As mentioned, the main body is in two parts, both offering different levels of betting information – the left a simple one-liner, the right side a wide, varied range of bets pertaining to the same fixtures. In terms of navigation, the page works fine but a slight oddity is that each of the four columns can be scrolled down individually. Not a biggie but just something that caught us off-guard and required a little getting used. In the greater scheme of things what’s infinitely more important is that the layout is fit for purpose and the design is pleasant on the eye.

For those who like to bet live, there are various ways to find this option, including direct links on the bookie homepage, but also there’s a ‘Live’ link on the main menu. Once you’re there, what Betticket bookmaker offers is very impressive. For your selected match or event, the main body of the page reverts to a single entity, which leads with a live statistical analysis of the event/match. And underneath there are listings of all the different bets and markets available, complete with ever-changing odds. While there is no live stream facility, what Betticket offer by way of in-play graphics is excellent. In common with quite a few sites who offer an alternative to live streaming, they offer a match tracker that allows you – using football as the example – to follow the flow of play and the whereabouts of the ball. And it comes complete with canned crowd cheering every time a goal is scored! A generally impressive feature that undoubtedly enhances the live betting experience.

The right sidebar is the usual combo of betting slip and ads, with the slip offering the punter the additional choice of a Quick bet or a Superbet (enhanced odds on selected events), and the slip itself comes with a very nifty ‘system calculator’ that lets the bettor see how much he/she could win. A small thing but useful nonetheless.

The ads are the usual – in-house offers and promotions, which we’ll come onto later. All in all, it’s a layout that works and a design that’s quite pleasing on the eye.

One more thing to note – the settings tab offers the punter an option on how the site’s odds are presented; the choices being the traditional decimal, fractional or American, and also HongKong, Malay or Indo.

Sports Markets & Odds

Betticket bookmaker, as mentioned above, offer up 52 different sports and entertainment themes – an impressive number in anyone’s book. As ever, they go big on football – why wouldn’t they – and cover leagues and competitions in an incredible 80+ countries. These range from Albania through to Zimbabwe, stopping off at Kosovo, Oman and Vietnam along the way. As well as offering their customers choices aplenty, it also ensures that those who like their live betting available 24/7 are well catered for.

Their range of sports and events is good too with over 50 to browse through. And in addition to some of the more obscure sports – Pesapallo, Lacrosse and Chess etc, as well as the more traditional BaseballHandball and Snooker etc – they also cover non-sporting markets such as  E-Sports – League of Legends, Counter-Strike etc – plus a good selection of special, entertainment and politics bets.

In terms of offering value, Betticket is just outside of what is generally considered the industry average. With industry standard odds being compiled to between 105% and 106%, at the time of this review we calculated the upcoming domestic Turkish football fixtures to be averaging around the 108% mark – still within acceptable levels but at the wrong end of the scale.

Bonuses

If we have one criticism of Betticket, it’s with regard to their bookie bonuses and promotions – they simply don’t have many! Or at least, if they do, they’re not obvious to the punters.

They claim however to ‘offer generous first deposit bonuses to new players’ but from what we could decipher there is a 20% bonus on offer for first-time punters.

In fairness, they also recommend that bettors should ‘check their promotions page for the most updated offers’ and therefore it’s probably fair to assume that these are updated periodically. We recommend you do as they say.

Responsible Gambling

Like most quality bookies, Betticket takes account of their role in responsible gambling. It’s not something they shout about, and in an ideal world they would give this a little more prominence on the site but tucked away at the foot of the site near ‘About Us’ are a couple of paragraphs, which conclude with them offering an email helpline for those who ‘wish to make informed decisions about their spending’. In truth, this is one area where Betticket fall shorts of most of the big hitters.

Customer Services

To quote Betticket, they offer a ‘24/7 Live chat & E-mail Support’. They have what they describe as a ‘live multilingual chat support that is always happy to help, 24 hours a day, every day’, and so, to be fair, that’s virtually every box ticked. We tested it and were met with a swift, concise response, so no complaints here. They do as they say. For info, the live chat icon doesn’t translate to English but can be found at the top left and reads ‘Canli Desket’. There is also a thorough list of FAQs found at the foot of the page or by one-clicking an icon at the top.

Mobile & Tablet

Betticket bookmakeris a mobile-optimized site and so, if betting on the go on smartphone or tablet is your thing, you are presented with a nice configuration that is basically a mini-version of the desktop site. It works nicely for both iOS and Android and offers an excellent betting experience in terms of navigation, responsiveness and information. Also, there is an Android app available.

Payouts

Cash-out is an automated process on Betticket and so this is, generally, at the speedy end of the scale, with pay-outs normally processed within 24 hours.

Final Verdict

Betticket bookmakeris a grower. First impressions weren’t great, and it wouldn’t be the first time the glare of graphics and colour had been used to disguise a lack of substance, but once you’ve negotiated the in-your-face ads there’s some good stuff going on.

The design and layout works, that is veers slightly away from the traditional norm is a good thing, and it’s intuitive. Experienced or new punters will find themselves equally at home here, and the betting experience is a good one.

The bonuses were a little disappointing and were certainly not in line with the most generous bookies, so too the lip service they paid to responsible gambling, but they excel in other areas such as in-play and live betting. Betticket is also heading into the world of virtual currency, and they accept funds via BitCoin and other virtual cards.

Overall, we’d be happy to recommend Betticket bookmaker to any of our friends.
