BetEast are a big operation, with offices in six countries. The company employ over 500 people around the world, with twelve different nationalities covered. Already a fast growing and innovative firm in Asia, the company aims to expand their reach by offering their services to customers in the UK and Europe.

They obtained a license with both the UK Gambling Commission and the Gambling Supervision Commission in the Isle of Man and to ensure fairness, the company have signed up with IBAS, an independent panel who mediate complaints. In order to develop their brand and raise awareness, BetEast became the official sponsor of English Premier League team Swansea City AFC, with the company’s logo being featured on the club shirt.

Everything about BetEast sports seems legitimate and they obviously have the resources and firepower to offer a competitive service. We are expecting big things, will we be justified, or will we come away disappointed? This review will reveal all.

Website

BetEast sports haven’t gambled with their website in terms of design, and have adhered to the conventional three column layout that is adopted by the majority of bookmakers. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it they say, so the firm can’t be blamed. Along with a bet search bar, there is the list of sports on the left-hand side of the page, with live betting in the centre and the betting slip and the live schedule on the right-hand side. The font is quite small, so BetEast manage to cram in lot of information, matches and odds to their homepage, but despite this, customers are still quickly able to navigate around, and the page doesn’t appear over populated. The website can be viewed in Chinese or English, and bettors are able to flick between fractional and decimal odds at the top of the page.

Promotions

At present, BetEast sports don’t offer a sign-up bonus to customers which is a little surprising, as it is one of the primary methods to attract new customers. However, there are several concessions and promotions available to existing clients. These are ad hoc and change, but include things such as moneyback if a selection loses by a head in horse racing, money back on certain football matches if they end in 0-0 draws, best guaranteed odds on horse racing and bonuses on accumulators (5% for 4 team bets up to 100% for 14+ team bets).

Sports Markets & Odds

Asian bookmakers tend to focus on the major sports, opting for turnover on the big sporting events as opposed to offering a plethora of different sports, but with thin markets. BetEast buck that trend, with over 30 sports available to players. Football, tennis, golf and American football dominate the list, but there are also odds on events such as sailing, e-sports, chess, surfing and speedway for those who like to look elsewhere for their betting fix.

As we write this review, we are in the middle of the NBA playoffs. Odds for these games are compiling to 106.5-107%. Asian bookmakers are big on over/under and handicaps and these odds are offered alongside the moneyline betting. Prices for these bets all work out to similar margins. Clients can also bet on winning margins, total points and more.

As mentioned, there are odds on horse racing, with early prices and best odds guaranteed. For each race, players can bet on the win or each-way, or if they are feeling particularly lucky, they may choose to have a bet on the forecast and tricast markets (where the bettor has to correctly select the first two or three horses home). The total book percentages for the early odds are very competitive when compared to other betting sites in the industry. For instance, an 8 runner contest at Chelmsford, one hour before the race, worked out to 114.2%. That equates to around 1.75% over round per runner, which is better than the standard of around 2%.

Football coverage is strong, with the major countries and leagues all present on the list of matches. The odds for the top league do vary, but typically sit between 103-104.5% which is again very competitive. Although the odds for the top sports are strong, the prices for the smaller sports such as Futsal are not so generous, with a league match in the Czech Republic being compiled to 115.5%.

Customer Support

BetEast’s customer service is strong from the perspective that it is online 24 hours a day, so individuals with queries over bets, complaints, or any questions, don’t have to wait long for an answer. The website offers a Live Chat function, and players will only experience a short wait before they are greeted by a representative of BetEast sports. In addition to Live Chat, clients can e-mail the company at support@beteast.co.uk, or they can go old school and send a letter in to:

BetEast 2nd Floor Athol House,
21a – 23 Athol Street,
Douglas,
Isle of Man,
IM1 1LB

There is an FAQ section, and although it isn’t extensive, the page will answer most simple queries that bettors may have. A phone number would be a nice addition to the customer services, but overall it has to be rated as solid.

Betting On The Go

Mobile betting – an increasingly popular phenomenon. What do bettors look for when betting from their phone? Clear links, easy to navigate website, full functionality, fast loading pages. The BetEast mobile optimised website has it all. Whilst the firm do not have a downloadable mobile app for customers in Europe, the mobile site more than suffices and loads automatically when visited from a handheld device. Android, iPhones, Windows and more are all compatible and the site has been very well designed. After landing on the homepage and selecting the bookmaker, customers can find the live events in the centre of the page. There is a scrolling horizontal bar which provides links to all of the major sports, and the other events are nestled under the ‘A-Z Sports’ button. BetEast have clearly thought the design of their app through, and it gets the thumbs up.

Verdict

BetEast are a big operation who know the time of day when it comes to running a bookmaker. They have everything in place, are committed to IBAS (demonstrates the firm are willing to be fair) and there is no reason that bettors shouldn’t sign up for an account with them.
